Question That Is A Bit Personal
Thanks for looking at this thread first off.... any input will help me greatly.
So as you may or may not know I hopped on my scale Saturday and I was down to 197.5. I was fine Sunday, had a little pasta but not over doing it. Then my not so fun "Aunt Flow" came into town on Monday and I got on the scale and was back up to 201.5. Now I know I didn't eat but 2 or 3 spoonfuls of pasta on Sunday and thats not going to make me gain 4 pounds.
So my "personal" question is.... how much of a gain do you usually see when its that TOM? I'm sure it's pretty much just water weight and I plan on hitting the gym hard this week. I would just like to get a general idea of what I should be expecting. Thanks ladies.

Wow.... I did not know that it was that much of a gain just for one little week.
What I'm hoping happens is that I work out really hard this week and then loose all the water weight plus some.....
Just have to get past cramping first.

for me it is 3-5lbs - I DO NOT step on that nasty scale at all during TOM!!!!! I usually wait a day or two afterwards. I am trying to stay away from the scale and focus on how things fit and how I look - I get too upset when the numbers don't go down "enough" and get stressed and go a little Psycho!!!! Then my dh and I fight b/c I get mad.

I am 53 and keep hopping I won't be "eligible" answer questions like this, but I still am. I was an early bloomer (just barely 10) and still coping with this garbage so I know the bloating stuff. Some ladies gain up to 10 lbs with menstrual stuff. Please don't sweat it and avoid the darn scales as they lie to you during this time.
You are doing fabo and keep up the good work!

Chellez - I'm so glad you asked the question 'cuz I was wondering the same thing...
My wkly weigh in is today (Wednes). Yesterday I took a sneak peek, as I worked really hard last week and the scale said 194. This a.m I did my normal weigh in and the scale said 196 - meaning no weight loss for the week. Looking at the calendar I see my menstral should be here in the next 2-5 days. I'm *hoping* the stalled weight is due to that.
Question: For those of you who gain weight during your cycle, after the weight naturally comes off do also lose the intial weight you were supposed to? Meaning will my weekly/mthly weight (lbs) loss still work out to what it is supposed to be, as long as I stick on my plan?

Sometimes I may gain as much as 5 lbs, but sometimes I only gain 2 or 3. All I know is when I eat really good I don't have PMS at all, it's those months that I'm really bad that the PMS is wicked.

I hate, and love, that time of the month. I am over the whole "I must weight myself everyday and get really upset about it" thing. Not criticizing, just saying that for some people, around that time of the month is a good time to take a few days off.
That said, I do tend to, um, cheat a bit more on those days, because I know my weight is going to be up anyway. It sort of balances it out in my head for me (which is wierd, but whatever). Those are the days that if somebody brings cake to work, I have a tiny piece. Or indulge in the fried things in the cafeteria.
And I feel better, hormone wise. So to me this is ok. Not strictly speaking south beach every day, but it has been working for me.
