Default It's never ending....

Sorry to be a downer, but I am a little discouraged and kinda over the whole weight loss at the moment. I was in maintenance and lost about 16 lbs to get to 132 - made my goal of a size 8 - almost 6. So I was in maintenance for about 2 months and within 2 weeks I gained about 4 lbs. I was feeling so great, not feeling bloated, etc. Then wham, I feel like crap all over again.

I tried TO for 2 days, nothing happened. I went back to the COD they told me to watch carefully, try TO again (it was almost 2 weeks since the last time). So I did TO again, was eating perfectly and I got back to about 134.5 It was not TOM during all of this either.

So I continue along over these last 2 weeks, eating well, I play tennis about 2-3 times a week. I haven't been so strict with things lately, I might eat a handful of trailmix or something, but I don't eat all my fruits so I figure it balances out. But I have been having a few drinks usually once a week. Now I am back up to 137-138.

I know, I sound like a baby when many people would happy at this weight, but I honestly don't "feel" any better then before. It is not all about the numbers to me, I just feel like crap. My friends are like well it is only 3 lbs or whatever, but I so wanted to get down about 3 more lbs and those 6s would have fit.

My whole point of this ramble is, I worked so hard to lose the weight and just a little off plan eating lands me back to this. I am not eating 10% of the crap I used to and this happens. Before I was eating out all the time and not gaining - of course not losing either

Just very discouraging if this is how I have to live the rest of my life under this food microscope. Not that I figured I could lose weight and then eat like before, I never thought that. Just figured every now and then I could eat something "bad" and not gain right away.

Now I am tryign again to lose the 4 lbs or so...TO again. I hate TO! OK, I am done whining. Congrats to everyone who is doing a great job!!

Hey Sheila, sorry you are struggling. By any chance, are you insulin resistant?

Not that I am aware of. If they checked my thyroid, is that something they would see. Sorry to ask a dumb ?, but don't know much about it.

Thank you!

Probably not. I just asked because I have been hearing a lot about the Insulin Resistance Diet book which says that people who are insulin resistant will store fat anytime they get a sugar high. The way to prevent the high is to always eat protein when you eat carbs. For instance, I have started eating my fruits with breakfast, lunch, and a cheese stick with my afternoon fruit, and of course I eat protein and carbs at all 3 meals. Even though I did not stay on plan this weekend, I used that system of balancing protein and carbs, and I was only up 1 lb this morning, which no doubt is water retention. Anyways, just a suggestion to combine your foods this way for a couple of weeks and see if it helps.

I WAS doing that until they put me on purple and took away my 1/2P and S! I'm giving this a few weeks, and then may get rid of the Lites since I don't seem to be having them every day any way. I'd rather eat real food instead of chemicals.

Thanks Katie, I will definitely have to keep that in mind and try it out to see how it works for me. I am up for anything right now! I need to focus more and try harder!!
