What I found in my kitchen
I have a memo board in my kitchen that, I hate to admit, I write little silly insults to myself to help motivate me. Things like, "hey fatty, don't eat that!" So far it's worked like a charm!
Well, this morning while making my coffee, I happened to glance over at the board and I just need to share with everyone what it said.
My hubby wrote and I quote,
"You are an amazing wife and mother, and a very special person.
Thank you for sharing your life with me. I love you.
And you look amazing! I'm so proud of you. Good Job, babe!"
I actually started to cry at that! He has always had the generic answer 'you look fine to me' for everything, even at my heaviest. This kind of recognition from him really feels just as good as losing the weight!
He definitly scored some major points with that one! I guess he's a keeper!

Quite honestly, I began to tear up upon reading this, too. What a sweet person to spend your life with, and what an excellent nurturing message to see in the morning.

That's so sweet! Lucky gal I am a lucky gal too my hubby does this also!
You know, they say that positive words are better than the 'hey fatty' kind. Maybe you should try to write something like
"Keep doing what you're doing, it's working, you don't need to eat bad foods anymore" Or "hey wonderful, you're so sweet, you don't need sugar"
I have been trying to turn off those "you're a loser, fatty" kinds of messages and it is working better for me so far. Though I DO have my days.

My husband gets very upset with me when I put myself down. He told me he would beat the crap out of anyone who talked to me like I talk to myself, and I needed to cut it out.
When I get really obsessed with the scale, and weigh myself repeatedly in the same day, he'll ask me on the third weigh, if he needs to throw the bleepn' scale away.
He makes a lot of "man" mistakes (like stacking garbage in the sink when he cooks, not rinsing the sink after shaving, leaving his clean and dirty clothes in the SAME pile.....), but over all he's a keeper.

They say we are our harshest critic. True.
You are right, if someone said the things about my husband that I have said to myself, I'd want to flatten them.
A lot of my inner voice habits are ingrained from childhood. My dad has a really low view of people with any faults. He's an ex-drinker, ex-smoker and has never been fat, and was in the army. SO, he's a 'don't be so weak, just do it" type. I have to keep reminding myself that NOTHING I ever did would change his way of thinking. I'll never get an "A" even if I get one. It's a hard thing to overcome though, for me.

I'm going to pretend that this is what my husband WOULD say if only he knew how wonderful it feels to hear it.
Yours is a keeper!

Yup, brings tears! For heaven's sake, don't erase it! Have it laminated some how. You can look at that message any time you are feeling down and remember the great reasons you're doing this.
Get another board if you want to keep up the habit and send messages back and forth That would motivate me more than anything else
