I started exercising not only to lose weight, but also to get more fit.
I will be having a day procedure next month, and went for the pre-admission interview today. They took my blood pressure and an ECG, but they also had a machine that measured your blood oxygen level (new to me). My score was 97%, way more than I expected. Holy moley, all that cardio is paying off!
I had a similar experice last time I was in for a check-up. My doctor commented that my heartbeat was nice and slow and I thought: "Ah ha! All that cardio is paying off!" In fact, I might have even said it out loud, I was so proud of myself (it was the first check-up in years where my doctor didn't tell me I needed to lose weight and exercise more)!
