Hey everyone,
Thanks for missing me!
The end of high school was
insane. Seriously, it's June 25th.... and I have
no idea what has happened in the last month. I feel like I haven't sat down yet.
So prom was disappointing.... except for the fact that I looked amazing, and that's all that matters, right? Just a lot of drama with the group I went with. So, basically I wound up dancing my booty off by myself on the dance floor all night, and then coming home and looking up at the stars by myself. I must say it was quite.... like a scene from a movie. But what are you going to do? If your friends are acting like idiots, you don't let them ruin your night, right? Right.
Graduation was also very hectic. I was a valedictorian, so that was amazing. It was one of my dreams since elementary school, and I must say putting that medal on was just like saying "how do you like me now?" to all of the people who hurt me over the years. There was a big party at my house after the ceremony... tons of people (most of which I'd never met) and lots of walking around and smiling and saying "Thank you! Thank you... UW-Madison, yes, thank you. Majoring in history and Spanish, then onto law school, hopefully. Thank you, thank you." It really was a great time though. It was such a whirl!
So, I'm going to attend UW-Madison in the fall. I went to orientation/registration last weekend. It was amazing! I can't wait to go off to college and get out of this small town and get off this insane pedestal I've been living on. I mean, there are going to be 5,600 freshmen... my city has 8,000 people in it!
I can't wait. I'm not at all worried about being homesick or anything like that... mostly, I am a little scared about being in such a new environment, but I'll adapt. For classes, I'm taking 4th semester spanish, a medieval literature class, medieval warfare (history), and Western Culture: Philosophy, Technology, Science in the Middle Ages.
Sounds like a lot of stuff about the Middle Ages, huh?
They make these little interest groups at UW-Madison where 3 classes have a common theme, so that you can get to know people a little better, so I signed up for one.
Anyway... now I work about 20hours/week in a clothing store, and am just trying to go through my things and get ready for college, and spend as much time as possible w/ my friends and my dad. But, now that life has slowed down (well, not exactly, but, enough that I can be online sometimes) I'm going to come back here. I missed everyone.
Thanks, everyone! Apryl
P.S. I'm going to attach prom and graduation pictures to this tomorrow when I have more time... but it's 2a.m. and I have to work in the morning!
