Nicknames
Just for fun, post how you ended up with your 3FC nickname.
When I registered there already was a Ruth so I added xxx. (I bet you thought it was because I'm triple X-rated! )

Fun thread! Back in the 80s there was this silly book called the "Preppy Handbook" or something like that. Somehow Kikky was a preppy nickname. I don't know which member of my family started with that, and now it has evolved to Kiko and my DH calls me Kiks.

My personal e-mail has always been Sunny. I've used that ID for most on-line stuff. When I came here, I was sick of it and decided to change it up a bit. Sun = to keep it similar and Lit = I love books and reading, so Lit's short for literature. Ta da!

Hey gals! This is a fun thread! My user name was inspired by my 8 yo son Lucas. He is such a great kid, so full of life and funny as all heck, but he deals with compulsive eating. Between my weight gain and his not being able to lose weight, I decided to use his name as my inspiration & reminder to start and stick with a healthy new way of eating. Any time I may want to cheat and give him french fries, for a ' treat'....I say to myself that if I won't put it in my body, then I sure as heck won't give it to my kid! Together we will overcome the bad eating habits that plaque our society!
So, thats how I got my name.

Love hearing the stories...great thread, Ruth!
I used to ask my camp kids what their 'name story' was...the story of how their parents came up with their name. I find those fascinating too!
My user name is simply my e-mail addy. I moved from CA to NY and really missed the beach. The last three letters are my initials with my married name, but backwards, so it worked for me. It just happened to be a great fit with the diet plan I chose... I bet everyone just thinks I'm a really for SBD!

What a great Thread PornoRuthie! he heeeee! I thought it was your porn name for those Canadian nature flicks... Ah Zeee Great Schatzarina has many nicknames..but Schatzi was given to me by my bestest guy friend..he made German sound sexy .. ... Anyhoo, it stuck with that group of friends.. He passed away a few years ago and using it just makes me feel close to him. I didn't know what it meant --and he didn't want me to know ... I looked it up after he passed and I think it means Sweetheart or dear one...sumthin like that thar....

Hi! I don't normally post in this part of the forum, but this thread is really cool! My user name is my actual name...yeah my parents were hippies My sister is Summer Dawn. It was not an easy name to grow up with, but I have embraced it now. But I bet I've been asked a million times if I was born in September. But I wasn't I was born in March.

I love this thread!
Well my name has a long story. Back in Middle school (1994) I was hanging out with some friends being goofy. I did somehing real stupid (not mean or anything just being clumsy) so one of my friends said keep it up and you're name will be Mud. Smartie me did it on purpose because I thought it'd be cool to be mud. Through high school it changed from Mud to Muddy to Muddy Buddy,to Muddy Mudd Skipper, to Mudalicious. When the whole Bootylicious craze hit six years later I got tired of some arrogant folk saying I was just trying to hitch onto it (I hate being called a copy cat when I'm not). So remembering a poem a friend once showed me I went to Mudlucious (the word was actually in a poem and it made her think of me). I think to this day there are still people (including teachers) that I went to school with who don't know my real name.

This is a fun thread, Ruth, what a great idea!
For as long as I can remember I've loved the seashore and have dreamed of having a home there. I even cut out pictures of seaside homes and fantasize living in them. Maybe, one day, I'll finally have my very own "cottagebythesea".
