Talking Steel Magnolias -- # 16

Good Afternoon, Flowers! The sun has gone into hiding and the rain clouds are heading this direction. We are dry and could use a good shower. We just got home from making a trip to SAM's Club, a quick visit to Beth and her family, and a quicker trip to visit MIL. We called Jason as we were leaving MIL's but they were just heading out the door so we didn't get to see them. I should go downstairs and work on the laundry but that can wait.

"Gma" -- I forgot to add the slide show at the end of the wedding after the bride and groom plus the attendants left the sanctuary! The movie sounds like it was a good one! Your talking about losing contact with your close friend reminds me of one of my best friends in high school. We kept in touch after high school; she and her husband moved to Ohio after they graduated from college and they lived about an hour away from us when we moved there. They were going through a divorce and then she remarried and moved to Illinois. In later years we only kept in touch at Christmas but one year I didn't hear from her. The following summer we had a class reunion; she always attended while I never did. When I got the class directory she was listed as deceased. You can imagine my shock! She had a cousin in our class so I wrote to him to find out what happened to her. She had cervical cancer and died a few months after her diagnosis. I felt bad that I didn't know at the time.

I'm off to work on the laundry piles. Have a marvelous Monday tomorrow!

Good morning girls! It is dry here now, but we had a whiz bang of a storm yesterday early evening. It didn't help with the humidity though and it's quite warm this morning. I skipped the pool yesterday and pretty much vegged out reading. I read two books yesterday! I also watched the Cubs get beat and the Nascar race inbetween and even a movie with Jack. I did however, do my chores and 3 loads of laundry.

Thomas's birthday party is this coming Saturday so I had to get him a card. I put $20 in it with a poem I did on my graphic arts program to tell him about getting a bigger surprise on his birthday.

Jean: Do you have a laundry day or do you just do it during the week? I think my sister does hers all on the weekend, but I am too anal for that. Even when I was working full time I did laundry everyday. It used to stress me out something awful when I would get behind and it still does. I am a wreck when we come back from vacation or a trip trying to catch up. How is you MIL enjoying the retirement villa or whatever it is?

Jack has been taking his muscle relaxer but not his pain pills. He is trying to stretch that foot every night while we wait for his brace/splint to come in. According to the order status, they haven't even shipped it yet. There wasn't much I could do about it. I had it shipped FEDEX, but the thing only cost $15 and it cost another $15 to ship 3-5 days and they wanted like $35 to do 2 day and almost $50 for overnight, which is ridiculous. The thing weighs less than a lb and is elastic so could have been shipped in one of their envelopes overnight.

I guess I better get going and get my Monday house cleaning started so I can go to the pool at 8.

Have a good day everyone! Anyone heard from Maggie lately?

GAIL: Where the heck are you girl?

Good Afternoon, Flowers! I've gotten lots of little things done today, but nothing that you can see. I did make a list and crossed things off so I can show it to Bob when he gets home this afternoon. I'm waiting for a load of his shorts and socks to dry, so I can fold and put them away. Tomorrow I have the "shower" for the teacher who had the explosion and a haircut in the afternoon. Wednesday is my annual dentist appointment. This week will be gone before I know it.

"Gma" -- WOW! You were a busy gal yesterday! Were you in charge of the remote? When Bob starts playing musical channels I either get up and head for the computer or else read because I just get interested in what's on TV and he'll change the channel on me. During the school year I try to do most of the laundry over the weekend. I hang most of our dress/work clothing while they are still damp. In the summer I wash whenever there is enough to make a load. I'd rather do that because then I keep the basement cleaner and more picked up as well as cleaning the litter boxes every day. "Mom" still has the 3 litter boxes that I had out when we had 3 cats. She poops in one and pees in the other . . . for some reason she rarely uses the 3rd one. I would love to get caught up on my ironing . . . maybe someday. MIL likes where she is . . . she better since it was her idea! But she still talks about going to the lake although she doesn't want to be there alone. Yesterday she mentioned going back to AZ this fall. I think alot depends on what the back specialist tells her. The GP didn't sound too promising that surgery was an option which was our opinion all along. She's also talking about getting her driver's license renewed when Bob's brother comes to visit. ARGHHHHH! We don't want her driving anywhere . . . we own the car she drives and Bob has the insurance on her/it. Scarey! Right now the car is sitting in the parking lot at his office; she's asked everyone but us where her car is. Bob is hoping she can't pass the vision test. Tell Jack I feel his pain! Ouch!

Not much else is newsy from my corner of the world today. Hope you enjoy the rest of the day and have a terrific Tuesday tomorrow!

Good morning sweet flowers. I woke up having to go to the bathroom and decided to heck with it to just get up and get morning chores done downstairs. I have to keep the car as Fortune has a "beauty shop" appointment today and it is too hot to be walking to the groomers and back. Crummy excuse, but there you go! I would rather freeze in the pool than bake walking. The pool water was ok yesterday but the air was cool yesterday just a bit and the wind was blowing so I got cold when I was doing exercises out of the water (upper body anyway.)

Jean: Your MIL sounds like a real character. Heaven help you, I don't know of anyone that age that should really attempt to drive even if they have perfect vision. Their reflexes just aren't quick enough to avoid accidents. She sounds like my husband's paternal grandmother. She lived by herself until the day she died and she would drive her Impala (it was from the 70's) around town scaring people to death. You couldn't get her not to. She was an opinionated little thing too. When my son was born and we went through Mineral Wells on his way to his parents house in New Mexico, she cooked the poor boy. She insisted on him being in the living room right next to her space heater. I kept trying to sneak out and get him, but she sat in her recliner all night. He was only a month old at this time and he ended up with a terrible ear infection out of the whole thing. I was lucky, she LIKED me. She used to gossip terribly about some of the kids spouses. The first thing she asked Jack when he said he was getting married was, "She's a Baptist girl, isn't she?" He told her yes. She was afraid he would marry a nasty Catholic! I thought maybe it was because I lived up by Notre Dame and that is where she got the idea, but she was just afraid to have those heathens be part of her family. She was the queen of her domain, that was for sure and she was less than 5 foot tall.

It must be me that I can't seem to get answers when I order stuff online. I can't get the company where I ordered Jack's splint to tell me when it is gonna ship, I can't get the company where I ordered my new swimsuit to tell me either and I have emailed them TWICE! I ordered a new car connection for Jack's cell phone because he broke his and they shipped it out the same day and it was in Memphis at the FedEx location on SATURDAY, but they aren't delivering it until WEDNESDAY! I guess if I don't hear from either of the companies today, I am going to have to call, especially my swimsuit and caftan coverup. I was hoping it would be here for my son's birthday pool party, but it sure doesn't look like it. The website doesn't have any way to check order status at all. They sure didn't have a problem putting through the charge on my credit card!

Well, guess I better get off here for now. Have a great day!

We had a commissary run to do today and I have just finished putting everything away.....I think that is the hardest part.

Yesterday was beautiful and Jack hinted at going to the Cape just for the ride and to see my friend Toni. She is the girl friend that we have visited for the 4th of July for many many years. She had a stroke earlier this year and was in the nursing home for 6 weeks and then went home but got a bladder infection and returned but not to the same nursing home. This time to a much more unsatisfactory one that she hated. Three weeks later she was home again only to fall last week with another mild stroke and is back in the first nursing home again. We stopped by to see her and I thought she looked remarkedly well, she had had her hair cut and curled and had lost a little weight in the face but she had all that old spark and vinegar that was the old Toni. She is looking forward to going home again but they haven't given her any time schedule.

After visiting her we drove through a few of our favorite places in Falmouth and then back home. Was able to finish the laundry that I had started and dropped when Jack gave me that Cape Cod hint.

Jean: Congrats on the end of school. Hope you have a great Summer and that mil doesn't create too big a problem for you and Bob. It is hard to stop driving after doing it for so many years and then to have to rely on others to get you where you want to go. However, if she really likes that place where she is now staying they may have a van to get the residents around to food shop etc. I know that do that here.

Faye: Wow, your swimming already. Yesterday at the Cape Jack put his feet into the ocean but he did say it was cold...I heard that it was about 50 deg......that's too cold for me. I hope you can straighten out those on-line shopping problems. The only thing I have ever purchased online was my Norton and that didn't have to be delivered.

The cough has finally subsided and the last two days have been sunny but....wait we just heard we are in for another few days of rain....will it ever stop.

Gloria in MA...off to take a nap.

Good Afternoon, Flowers! I just got home from running errands and going to the teacher's shower. She was in tears as she opened her gifts. She got a wide assortment of kitchen utensils, pans, ingredients, and recipes. It was a nice way to end the year for all of us. I needed to pick up some of that vinyl repair stuff that you can use on dishwasher racks when they start to rust. I stopped at one appliance store and the salesman told me they didn't make it any more and I should just buy a new dishwasher! I did find it an another appliance store . . . $15 for a teeny tiny bottle. My haircut is in an hour and I need to go vote on my way.

"Gma" -- My MIL is a retired teacher and knows best! Just ask her! She really is a nice person and I think pain and age are making her the way she is right now. I will be glad when she finally gets to visit with the back surgeon to find out if surgery is a "no or a go." I had to laugh at Jack's grandmother liking you. My grandmother on my dad's side didn't like me . . . she thought I was spoiled! For some reason she did like Bob though. After we had moved to Ohio we were home on vacation getting ready to go from my parents (who were babysitting our cat that we had hauled back with us) to Bob's family for a few days. He thought we should make our duty visit to my grandma before we left which we did. She died of a heart attack while we were at my in-laws. Talk about spooky. I like to order from Amazon because they let you know where and when your purchase is at all times. I really don't shop online much. I hope your items arrive today and surprise you!

Gloria -- It's nice to see you today! I hope your friend is able to return to her home soon. I'm glad she is feeling better. Where MIL lives is assisted living and they will take her wherever she wants to go; she hasn't driven in this city for probably at least 20+ years and there has been lots of building and road changes in that time. They also have a mini bus that makes trips to the mall a couple times a week, Wal-Mart, Target, Shopko, K-Mart and anywhere else they want to go. They have daily activities planned for each day. My friend, whose mother is also there, and I told the director we wanted to put our names on the list and have rooms across from each other! You only have to be 55 to get in . . . sounds good to me, but I have way too much STUFF right now.

I need to change washer loads so I'm off! Have a wonderful Wednesday tomorrow!

Good morning ladies. I typed up this diatribe last night after the incident happened because I was so upset. I am still pretty steamed about the neighbor doing such a spiteful thing and I better not see her around because she is liable to get a piece of my mind, little though there is left!

I need to vent ladies! I am so upset and mad! One of my nasty neighbors sent a woman to our door about an hour ago claiming we stole her yorkie! The neighbor was mad at me because when Fortune got back from the groomers and the painter had our garage door off and the back gate taken apart to paint so Fortune couldn't go outside on the deck and go to the bathroom. I took him out front on a leash and her big nasty chow was out there off his leash and came up to Fortune and scared him half to death jumping at him and barking. I picked Fortune up because Fortune was cowering poor thing was so terrified. The damn dog jumped me. I pushed him off and told the woman that Fortune is afraid of other dogs and she got snotty and said if he was going to walk outside he needed to get used to the other dogs. I told her no he didn't and wasn't there a city leash law and walked back to my house carrying Fortune all the way. I guess she thought she could get even this way. The woman that showed up here expected us to GIVE her FORTUNE! Jack refused and she called the cops. It made Jack mad and when the cops asked to see Fortune he told them NO! He told them they needed a warrant and could go get one if they wanted to see him. He said they could look at all his records and I had organized his shot records from the time he was born until his last shots last Oct and had Jack give them to the idiot cops. That didn't satisfy them so Jack went upstairs and got a professional photo of Fortune we had taken three years ago and they made Jack prove who he was with ID. When the one cop found out Jack was retired Navy (he was retired Army) he backed off some, but I was p*&^%$##$ by this time and I walked up to the door and shook my finger at the woman and told her she owed us an apology! I finally made Jack relent and he showed them the dog but through the locked storm door. The woman had told the cops that her dog had an eye tumor and we told the cops he didn't have a tumor and they even told her his eyes were clear. We asked what sex her dog was and she said female then male real quick when we said he was a male! The cops apologized for bothering us and Jack smarted off and said that was ok, it just kept them from getting the murderers and rapists in this town so they could harrass good citizens, which was more important. One of the cops said, "Sir, a crime has been committed." Jack said something like, "not by us," and slammed the door in their face. Jack has been known for his tact and discretion... We feel that now there is no way we can take him outside and I have to be sure our back gate is locked at all times. I don't trust these scummy people here. I worry that they will see us leave sometime and break in and steal Fortune. We may have to buy a security system now. Can you believe that?

Gloria: The pool water is medium but we have had a cool breeze two days in a row that makes it chilly to swim, especially since I am out there around 7:45. I do like the solitude though! Yesterday I was swimming laps and looked up and saw two jet streams in the sky and they were headed right at each other. I actually stopped swimming and watched in horror afraid the planes were going to slam into one another, they were that close. They left this big X in the sky where they crossed. I wondered if they had been hot dogging and showing off because it seemed awfully close. I am so sorry about your friend. It sounds like she has had a tough time of it lately. I got all THREE things I ordered online yesterday, but they were delivered one at a time. The painter had stuff scattered all over the place and the FEDEX guys had to dodge and weave to get to the back door!

Jean: I got a laugh thinking about poor Bob hauling all what you call your clutter back and forth from your house to a retirement community. If it is as bad as you say it is, better get two apartments, one for the clutter and one for you and Bob! I have seen the inside of a couple of these assisted living places and they are really nice. I adore my grandson, but wouldn't it be nice to live in a community of all adults and they all be in your age range so to speak? No loud music making your house thump, no kids throwing food on your deck, etc, etc. Jack got his medical authorization for his physical therapy. We just hope he can fit it into his schedule as he can't take off work. He was supposed to call them yesterday, but with the dog mess it never did get done. I am hoping his splint will improve his foot too.

Everyone have a good day! Talk to you later!

Faye

Good Afternoon, Flowers! I've been to the dentist (no cavities! ) and to the grocery store, Bob was home for lunch, and now I need to pick up and sort through my junk drawer. I think things grow in there when I'm not looking.

"Gma" -- I would be as angry as you are about the dog episode! Aren't Chows known for being agressive? I feel sorry for both you and Fortune! I wonder if the other lady really ever did have a dog in the first place. I'm sure the cops wondered what in the world was gong on! From the sounds of your past and present neighbors I think a security system would be a good investment! I hope that Jack gets some relief soon; I really feel for him.

I need to keep moving! Have a nice day and a terrific Thursday tomorrow!

Good morning everyone! It is going to be a real hot one today, in the 90's. It is already near 80 and it isn't even 7:30 yet. It will warm up the pool nicely, though.

Jack talked to the therapy place and they are open until 5 PM so he is waiting to hear back from them about getting a late afternoon appointment. The dr wants him to have 13 treatments between now and August so he is going to have to go about 3 times a week, looks like. I wonder if we are going to have to pay a co-pay everytime or what??? He is wearing his splint, but I know he takes it off in the evening. He says his foot is sore, but knowing him, it is probably a lot worse than that. He plays down how much stuff hurts him most of the time.

Well, we now have a newly painted condo, the termite man was here and drilled holes and put gunk in the garage for the termites, and the maintenance man finally got around to changing the door knob on the side door of the garage. We haven't heard another word from the goofy woman. I am really on my guard though and Fortune is not going out walking anytime soon. He loves to do it, but I am not going to take the chance. Who knows what she would do and like you said Jean, did she ever have a dog in the first place?

Looks like I have to call the party store and see where my grandson's dog pencils are for his party on Saturday. My dd ordered them a month ago and she has never been called. She kind of got forced into a promotion and as such is in training and can't get out to call them so I told her I would try and hunt them down. The shop is out here by me, but I am not sure they would let me pick them up for her if they are in. I guess I will just spend some time on the phone today getting the info of where the things are.

Other than that, life is same-o same-o here at the Wilkinson household. The cat and dog are snoozing and I am going to go out to the pool in a few minutes and workout.

Everyone have a great Thursday!

Good Evening, Flowers! Since I was up at 4:45 AM and didn't sleep the best last night I am heading off to bed shortly. We left the house at 5:45, spent the day with Beth's two, then Amanda and their two came to spend the afternoon, ordered pizza for supper for everyone, stopped to chat with MIL a few minutes, and headed home arriving about 8:30. Long day and I'm tired! I could never do daycare on a regular basis even if they are my grandchildren! I wish I could bottle the energy and sell it!

"Gma" -- Hope you find the dog pencils in time. That sounds like a cute idea! When Jason and Amanda rented a duplex they had termites and the exterminator never did get rid of them in the 2 years they lived there. He told them that they would not move with them when they left! To my knowledge they haven't had any since. Hope your pool workout was a good one!

Hope you all have a fantastic Friday! I'm going to bed!

Good morning gals! I am all bleary eyed this morning from allergies and last night was my night off from my contacts so I am wearing my old glasses. I feel like a blind person!

Jean: Thomas's birthday is all dog themed. She made "doggie bags" for their gift bags, dog tag bone necklaces with their names on them and these little sun visors with felt floppy ears that she made and attached for their party hats. She made a bone cake, etc. She even made homemade graham cracker dog biscuits for their gift bags! It was Thomas's idea. They called yesterday afternoon and I am going to go and pick up the pencils this afternoon, I guess. We have to go to Lowes anyway. We have really old countertops that are wood and the screws connecting the dishwasher to the countertops keep falling out so Jack needs to get some wood fill to put in the holes so he can put the screws back in. I was unloading the dishwasher the other day and pulled out the top shelf and the dishwasher tipped completely forward with the screws falling into the dishwasher. I was stuck holding it until Jack could come downstairs and help me! I think the old dishwasher was bigger that this one and we haven't been able to get it scooted back in the there correctly ever since we had it repaired when I broke that glass in it.

I told one of my gossipy neighbors what happened with the dog yesterday when she stopped by the pool when I was working out. I knew she would spread it around and I wanted the neighbor tha started this all to know that I know she did it. I didn't use her name, but I told the gossipy neighbor that one of the neighbors in my building told another neighbor that we had stolen her dog. I want to see what she does the next time she sees me.

Oh, I don't know if you remember the story I told you several months ago about a bunch of state senators from our districts here in Memphis that got caught in a dummy corporation sting that the FBI set up and the senators took bribes, etc. The first guy went on trial here a few days ago and was convicted. We never thought he would be and were pleasantly surprised that he got the axe. He could get up to 90 years in prison and 1.5 million $$$$ fine. His wife is squawking racial nonsense because there were more whites than blacks on the jury, but the jury had to convict 100% so the 5 blacks on the jury thought he was guilty too; obviously as it only took like a day. The one I am interested in is the Ford case. We shall see if they will put this guy away. He was the ringleader so to speak of the whole thing and took more money than anyone else. The FBI have him on TAPE taking the bribe. His family is very very popular in politics here so we shall see if the community has the guts to put this guy away. In fact, his nephew is a TN state senator and is running for the US senate. I have to say that Harold Ford Jr seems to be an honest person, unlike his crook of a father and his scummy uncle. The senator's father was a real shady character I guess.

Well girls, guess I will haul the vacuum upstairs so I can do the upstairs after I come back from swimming this morning.

Have a great day and a great weekend!

Good Morning, Flowers! I'm taking a quick break after bringing up a load of towels from the dryer. Bob has ants in his bathroom! They're coming in under the woodwork and up through the sink drain. He put some poison out last night and they all died on the spot. Whenever I've used that stuff they eat it and disappear. There used to be an outside door in his bathroom before we moved a wall and closed the door hole. I kept telling the contractor there was a draft where the door used to be and he kept saying it wasn't possible. Last winter I folded sheets of newspaper and stuffed several under the woodwork! I know a draft when I feel one. Hah! I wonder if ants eat paper.

"Gma" -- How long do you have to wear your glasses? I checked into Lasik (maybe I already shared this), but my correction is too strong and I am 60 so can't have it done. I finally had gotten my courage up to investigate the possiblilty. I hate my glasses because they are so thick and heavy. I hope the politicians all get what is coming to them! I am so sick of the local campaigning and know it will kick in again this fall. Your daughter sounds like she is quite creative to think up the doggie bags and other items for T's birthday.

I need to keep moving. Have a great Friday!

Good morning gals! Hope this morning finds you all chipper! It is scorching and sticky already this morning. Our car temp registered 99 yesterday coming home from Lowes and is usually no more than a couple points off so it was hot and it is supposed to be hotter today.

We have T's birthday party this afternoon and it is a pool party. Of course, he has 20 little kids coming and their parents so the pool might be a tad crowded. He invited his whole soccer team and most of his class at school I think. I talked to her last night and ask her if she needed help with anything, but she said she has it all covered so guess I will go and have a good time. I may be dispensing drinks and cake etc though so who knows?

Jean: I take my contacts out and leave them out just overnight and then put them back in. Dr says it is just to relax the eye. I am tempted to go back to glasses because I have to have readers all the time, but I do like being able to see stuff, ie when I am in the pool or at night after I have gone to bed. I am blind as a bat and have worn glasses since I was 10.

I saw that Jack had been downstairs last evening and put the wood filler in the screw holes for the dishwasher so maybe we can get that fixed now. Wish I had about $50,000 to renovate this whole place, put in new bathrooms, do all the floors and put in new counters and cabinets in the kitchen. Alas, I have none so have to put up with what I have. I am hoping next year is the year I get to do the floors once and for all.

I am down to my last three books from my book club. I have several that will come in a few weeks as they have not been released from the publisher yet and I have 2 in the mail to me. I have read I think 7 so far. I could read night and day if you gave me enough books. Books are like handbags and shoes to me, I can't get enough. I don't re-read books but I do love to read. When I get my book case full, I box them up and take them to the library and they get a whole bunch of fairly new books free. I have one I have been saving to take to the water park at the end of the month. It is called Beach Road and everyone says it is really good. I have been itching to read it and if I run out of books before the end of the month, I know I will be tempted! I just read the latest installment of the Stone Barrington series by Stuart Woods. He writes a heck of a book, but the man himself is SUCH a jackass. He has pages of stuff at the back of his book about writing or emailing him, but don't do this and don't do that, etc. I am sure all writers get fed up with people who want to know how to get their book published and such, but it goes with the territory and he even gets nasty if you ask him where he got the idea for a book. He says something like it being self explanatory at his website or some such drivel.

Well, I need to get my morning chores done. I think I will only do a short workout at the pool this morning. It is harder to do with Jack being home because it is just about the time he gets up for breakfast and he either has to make it himself or wait an hour and I hate for him to have to do that.

Happy Saturday, Flowers! It finally did rain before I got up this morning and the wind kicked in before I went to bed. It's really blowing this morning and only 52 degrees outside. We are supposed to have thunderstorms off and all for the next week; I hope the weather settles down because we leave for MN next Saturday. There's nothing worse than being stuck on a lake when it is storming outside.

I was bad, bad, bad this morning! It was not quite 7:00 and I noticed the back yard partying neighbor's dog digging along the cat hater's garden fence. I didn't think much about it because the dog runs loose from time to time. When I opened the back door to put the cat food out, I could hear the back neighbors arguing quite loudly. For years we have put up with their loud music, their kid's partying friends in the back yard, the parents loud parties, etc. It just popped right out of my mouth and I yelled "SHUT UP" as loud as I could. The leaves are on the trees so they couldn't see me, but I'm sure they knew where it was coming from. It was dead silence, the dog took off for home, and we haven't heard anything since. Bob said they were going at it after I went to bed . . . he was out killing a possum at midnight! He got up at 3 to go to the bathroom and they were still arguing so maybe it was an "all-nighter!" One other time, years ago, I called over there and told them to turn the music down when they were having a party. She hasn't been around for over a week; I told Bob maybe they will get a divorce and move! I can only hope. Like he said, we could get someone worse.

I am sorting again today! I think we will go to church at 5:30 because tomorrow Bob and Jason are headed to the lake to put the boat hoist in if the wind dies down.

"Gma" -- Have you read books by Debbie Macomber? I bought one for when we were on the plane and I've bought several more since. Wouldn't it be nice to have money to redo in any or all rooms without having to worry about the cost? Since I don't buy lottery tickets nor do we live close to any casinos, there's not much chance of that happening here. I can always dream though. Have fun at the birthday party! I have my dishwasher racks out drying so I can paint the rust spots with the goop I bought the other day.

Have a great weekend! Do something nice for yourselves!

Jean -- in Iowa!

Good morning girls! It is going to be another hot one today. It was a real scorcher yesterday.

We had a great time at T's party. I kind of felt sorry for my dd. There were at least 6 kids that RSVP'd and said they were coming that didn't show up. She had a lot of personalized stuff for them that had to just be tossed. The rest of us had a grand time, though. She had bought little plastic dog dishes at the $ store and put the food in them, his birthday cake was in the shape of a bone and all the other stuff I told you about. For their gift bags, she found teeny tiny candies that were little bright colored bones and erasers that were dalamations. Her homemade graham cracker bones were really good, too. The kids loved playing in the pool and I was the only adult that got in and fooled around with them pretty much. Jack finally got in, but it was too cold for him and my dd was way too busy having to keep everything filled etc. Thomas has a ton of pool toys, noodles, and such so everyone had a good time. Thomas was the only kid that can swim without water wings, life vest whatever and saying he can swim is an understatement. He is a little fish in the water and doesn't get rattled when he gets splashed or a wave hits him in the face or something. Two of the girls there were from T's class and have huge crushes on him. They kind of fought over him the whole time. It was pretty funny. One of the moms was telling me her dd, who absolutely adores Thomas, says he is the quietest kid in the class. She made him this mushy card that said I love you in it and everything. Bless his heart, Thomas took it all in stride pretty much. The other little girl was kind of a snot and a whiny tattletale on top of it.

We stayed and had dinner with them from Sonic. Not healthy, but fun. Unfortunately, I paid for it last night and had heart burn and acid reflux! Darn that chili dog.....

We ended up telling T what his birthday gift is because dd had to tell him we were going to Nashville at the end of the month. It had something to do with a big baseball game party her company is going to and it is on the Saturday we are supposed to be over there. He opted for staying at the hotel the extra day instead. When I told him his birthday present was not only going to the hotel, but that I had bought all of us tickets to the water park he was all excited.

Jean: Just don't wish your neighbors here! They can go anyplace else, just not next door to us! When we lived in Indiana and Jack worked for a company in Chicago and would have to travel a lot, I would be home alone and get awakened at 2 or 3 am by the scummy neighbors above our apartment playing their music so loud I could hear the lyrics word for word. I called the police on them more than once. They were this young couple and when they got evicted the maintenance man said they had torn the door off the hinges and put holes in the wall and everything. I would imagine if you live out and away from town that the sound would really carry too, which would make it worse.

Well, I gott go. Have a good Sunday everyone!
