Last night I posted this in the "Ok, I'm in", thread but through a nudge from Susan we both think it deserves it's own thread to rededicating ourselves, specially the Featherweights, to keep it going mentally... Because at times it's not just all about food and exercise...

This week I have also started to dig my heals in by re-reading the Burn the Fat feed the Muslce by Tom Venuto an e-book that I haven't read in a couple of years. It's a very motivating book and I find his program makes sense to me...
In the first chapters he talks about goal setting and to put your goals in the form of affimations on a sheet of paper or cards and to read them daily and often. Your affirmations must be in the present tense because to your subconscious mind there is no future only the present... which really feels strange but I kinda like it. Then thirdly your goals must be in terms of the positive...
So here are my positive and affirmative goals:
1. I am happy and thankful that I can run a 10k in 60 minutes.
2. I am happy and grateful that I weight 135.
3. I am happy and grateful that I run 4 times/week
4. I am happy and grateful that I go to the gym 4 times/week
5. I am happy and grateful that I swim 2 times/week
6. I am happy and grateful that I am strong and lift heavy.
7. I am happy and grateful that I eat only unprocessed and healthy foods.
8. I am happy and grateful that I eat 5 meals/day
9. I am happy and grateful that I eat between 1300 and 1400 calories per day
I am thankful that I can look at myself in the mirror and smile.
I am thankful that I love and respect what I am on the inside and that it shows on the outside.
I am thankful that I can run, walk, lift, work, play and love.
I am thankful that I learn something about myself everyday.
I am thankful that I choose to be happy.
I am thankful that I choose to be healthy.
I am thankful that I choose to exercise.
I am thankful that I am who I want to be!
I am thankful that I have not smoked a cigarette in 17 months.
I am thankful that my health has vastly improved in that time.
I am thankful that my arthritis is mostly under control right now.
I am thankful that I have the energy to accomplish many things each day.
I am thankful that I can make decisions and stick with them.
I am thankful that I can afford to belong to the Y.
I am thankful that I have a positive attitude.
I am thankful that I have the time to provide service to others.
I am thankful that I am provided with everything I need.
I am thankful that my body works the way it is supposed to.
I'm going to join in, 'cause things like this make me really focus....
I am so happy and thankful that my children are well and that my grandbaby is a healthy child.
I am thankful that I am alive to enjoy them.
I am thankful that my body works well, in spite of the extra weight I am "temporarily" carrying, and that I am having fun on this challenging "path towards wellness"
I am thankful that at age 63 I have found a retirement career that will nuture both me and those I work with...personal training.
I am thankful that I have a roof over my head, good friends to maintain my spirits, and <grin> lots of exercise equipment at home so when the weather is bad I have no excuse not work out.
I am thankful that I love to exercise, I love to create, and I love the life I lead.
I don't need wealth...just give me my health and a stable life environment...and I am thankful that so far that is the case.
I am thankful there is a place like 3fatchicks to come to, where I am in touch with others with the same goals.
