Default Morningstar Farms Veggie Sausage Patty

I looooove breakfast sausage, but it is on my “do not eat” list. My old roommate used to cook up the links, and he’d leave the pan sit for hours and the grease would congeal into a solid 1 inch thick white gooey mess. And that’s the stuff that goes into our arteries! That’s why I love their veggie sausage patty. I’ve tried others that smell like breakfast sausage but taste absolutely horrible. This brand is so great. The spices are just right, and the texture is really close too. I use mine for a quick snack when I want to eat protein instead of carbs, or I chop it up and put it into an Egg Beater omelet with some fat-free shredded cheese. I also like to make my version of an Egg McMuffin with a light English muffin, some Egg Beaters, a sausage patty and a slice of ff cheese. The nutritionals are 80 calories per patty, 3 grams of fat, 2 grams of fiber and 10 grams of protein.

Oooh that sounds yummy! I haven't tried those, only the light and turkey versions of - geez, can't think of the name now - the popular frozen boxed brand?? lol!

See what cutting down on my coffee has done to me!

I loooooove the morningstar patties. I like them better than meat sausage. Now the morning star link sausage, on the other hand, tastes terrible to me. Why in the world would they have a different recipe for links than they use for patties. So utterly strange

I agree, the links are horrid. I like the patties, though.

Morningstar Farms veggie-sausage patties are pretty good, but they pale in comparison to turkey sausage patties both in flavor and fat/calorie content. Butterball makes a super-tasty version - check your grocer's freezer
