Default Road Trip - EEEK!

We are leaving Thursday to go out of town for a wedding. Since DH will be preaching Sunday morning, it is a quick one! We will be in the car for 10 hours on Thursday, attend the wedding on Friday, and then back in the car Saturday.

I am planning on taking 3 days worth of fruit as well as some baby carrots and celery. I am also going to carry some LAWL cereal bars and Toffee Popcorn plus bottled water. I have kicked around the idea of packing some bagels, bagged salad and some grilled chicken in a cooler, too.

Is this too anal of me??

I did talk to my counselor at the COD and she didn't seem to think this was necessary, just suggesting that I use good portion control. However, breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the road is pretty starchy and greasy! And, since I am just now getting back with it, it seems a little scary to me!

Any other suggestions?

Andi

Andi- I wouldn't worry about your proteins, you should be able to eat out and be OP on proteins and starches, but definitely take fruits, veggies, and water. Thats the stuff you will really have a hard time getting. Have a great time!

Andi - I agree with Katie - the hardest thing is getting the fruits and veggies in. I don't think it would hurt if you wanted to take sandwich fixins (low cal bread, light mayo, mustard, meat, ff cheese) in a little cooler for at least one of the meals but that is totally up to you. I think you could always find a blimpies or a subway on the route! Good luck!
I can't remember do you have your free to live binder. It has great do's and don'ts for eating out.

BTW great to see you back posting! We've missed you.

One good suggestions for food on the road are the sugar free jello snacks because 1 jello container count as aa condiment and you can just stop by any fast food and order a big salad which should take care of your veggies

Thanks, ya'll! I do think I'll take a little cooler with some string cheese, fruit, veggies and water. I had forgotten about Subway! And, yes, I have my Free to Live binder on a shelf in my closet! Better get it out and read it, huh?

I'm going to weigh in tomorrow and try to weigh in on Friday in the city where we are staying. DD and I thought it might be fun to see another center and how they operate.
