A new week and thank goodness Thanksgiving is over. Fortunately I didn't gain a pound. Whew! The long weekend was great, except for that little bit of snow last Friday! Yup, you got it baby, snow. Gasp. Winter is on it's way. The snow didn't stick around but it was a reminder of what is to come.
I haven't been to an official weigh in for a few weeks now. I've just been depending on my scale at home. I'm going this Saturday. I'm only two official weigh in's from Lifetime. Patience, patience.
Tips and Tricks for weigh in...............I always try and wear the lightest clothes - who doesn't. The scariest weigh in was in September when I could no longer wear shorts and a t-shirt. It was so cold and I wore jeans - yup, I was up 2 lbs - not a surprise but not really fair either.
A groupie eh.........well, perhaps. Maybe mildly obsessed some days. But, if I wasn't obsessed I wouldn't have done this. I will also publically admit that I wondered if this would work for my cat! The poor thing is sooooo sloth-like.
Well everyone, have a wonderful week - I hope it doesn't snow wherever you are!
Snow! I can't believe it! I've been complaining about just having scrape frost from the car! I take it you live in Canada. Where? I'm in New York state and hoping not to see snow for a while.
When you count how many points other people have on their plates.
You can reel off points for a variety of foods without a second thought.
I've caught myself doing both of these things without even batting an eye. I do tend to look for the lightest clothes to wear to work on WI days and also eat a very light breakfast (and I mean light--weight wise) and don't drink a whole lot of water until after my meeting.
1) You shave your legs before you weigh in.
2) You get a haircut.
3) You exhale before stepping on the scale.
I confess to being consistent in what I wear every week - try to have outfits of the same approximate weight. I try not to have a lot of sodium the day before - water retention, you know. I also do the "pee alot before I weigh" routine (just like you, Myra ). Excessive or clunky jewelry is removed, too.
Myra, I'm live in the province of Manitoba in Canada. Snow this early is unusual. It's all gone of course! The last few years we haven't had snow that stayed until the first week of December.
The good thing about living here in the winter is that you have to keep moving to keep warm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gosh ladies, what kind of heavy jewelry are you wearing?
I admit that I will often not want to wi based on how my rings are fitting in the am. A bit tight, well, that will translate to a gain or a maintain.
so, here it goes for me:
1. consider the weight of one's undergarments - light bikini v. jockeys
2. short v. long sleeves
3. not drinking anything before wi and after working out.
I tell you I'm about 3# more than I was last year and definitely in better or the same shape and they are hurting. So, I am wondering, should we "self-monitor" (my brother's pet phrase ) ourselves more carefully. For example, if I had put the jeans on in early July, would I have perhaps not had such a successful eating summer? This is why I hate shorts and some days, hate lycra for the little give it give us.
Here's my week. I'll tell you how I did Wednesday. Hopefully the scale will go down. The reading from my home scale today was not that encouraging. It is probably the exercise. I missed a few workouts this week.
