Default Should protein be eaten with fruit on P2?

When transitioning into phase 2, if I use a piece of fruit for a snack, should I eat it with a protein rather than alone, such as fruit and cheese? Or does it matter?

The theory is that eating protein or fat with fruit slows down the absorption of the sugar in the fruit by the blood and prevents a spike in glucose.
(Does that make sense? I've only had one coffee so far. Maybe I should have just said "Yes".)

I would do that. Something like 1/2 and apple and a T of peanutbutter. You know what's really good is thinly sliced apple with thinly sliced parmesan cheese. Yum! Or maybe a handful of walnuts or almonds? Just be sure to count your nut serving if you do that. I also like 1/2 C cottage cheese with 1/2 an apple and flax seeds and then sweetend with a little bit of sf maple syrup.

I always have protein with my fruit...otherwise I get cravings. Plus, it helps balance out your meal and keep you full longer. The carbs in that fruit burn off quick and you get hungry!

I love pear with laughing cow, apple or banana with peanut butter, or orange and a cheese stick or handful of soy nuts.
