I'm having a hard time getting all my veggies in everyday. I am on purple and it says to have 4 a day. I prefer raw veggies but I love cooked green beans!!! Any suggestions?

I know LAWL says no canned veggies but i use the no salt green beans. My grandma is on a low salt diet and she hates frozen and the fresh green beans. So the dietician told her to take a can of the no/low salt canned green beans rinse them in water really really good then put them in a pan and cover with water and cook till water is gone. It has never effected her or me with water weight gain. I usually add chopped/sliced onion and pepper to mine before I cook it down. I sometimes do this with canned carrots too. I add a little brown sugar, butter and some water to them and cook them down. Hope this helps you 30lbsby22.

see here is the COD difference thing. i always eat the no salt added green beans and my COD said it was fine. I eat them at least 2 times a week and since 1 cup is 2 veggies, it works great for me.

I do not recall ever noticing a gain after eating them either. I record my weight each day so I will check my journals to be sure, but when i have a gain I look to see why so I don't belive that it has happened.

also 30lbs, when i am in a crunhc for veggies...1/2 cucumber w/ vinger or morton lite salt or fat free catalina dressing or fat free italian....2 veggies (and i can eat a whole one with no problem)
also 1 celery stick=1 veggie

Is it true that celery is high in sodium? My center tells me to not eat too much, and I LOVE celery, because it's high in sodium.

Thanks, I think I'm going to disregard the "High Sodium" pitch and eat my celery. For me its an easy way to get in that extra veggie.

Default Frozen Green Beans

I tried something last night that worked really well (for me).

I added 2 Tbsp salsa to 2 cups frozen green beans. It made them very tolerable! Since I had not used my condiments for the day, it was not an issue at all. I'm so relieved, because I, too, cannot stand the taste of frozen green beans. But this made them somewhat interesting.
