TUESDAY: Today is Target Tuesday and our target this week is unsaturated fats. We need fats in our diet so try and get some "good" fats in like olives, olive oil, nuts etc.

POINTS:

LeeAnn:

LBS DOWN:

Susan
Carri

Amanda: Hope you are feeling better and that is so terrific about your boots! I am just trying to get another pair of sandals to fit properly. This is the third pair I have ordered and am sending the second pair back tomorrow! I am having trouble getting them to fit over my fat instep!

Susan: Hope that asthma is calmed down a bit. It is a tough thing to go through when you are having problems! Hope dh continues to turn the corner!

Carri: We go to casinos in Tunica, Ms, which is about 40 miles from our house. There are 9 down there all together so you have a big choice, Goldstrike, Horseshoe, Sheraton, Ballys, Fitzgeralds, Sams Town, TheResort (used to be Harrahs) the Grand and Hollywood. We have stayed at Goldstrike the last two times, but I like the slots at Fitzgeralds better. Jack loves Baccarat and there are only a coupe casinos that have it so we have to stay there so he can play (up all night and it is more convenient that way ) What does you husband like to play? Let me guess, he is a blackjack or poker player?

Well gals, I have an icky stomach this morning and have been up overnight so I am going back to bed!

Rainy day this morning and lots of fog. Not good asthma weather.

Faye, I hope you are doing better!

Amanda, glad you got the boots you wanted. Just shows what exercise can do for your body.

Add some avocado to the good fat list. I love avocado and turkey on a salad or sandwich.

Hi all,

I got 2 points yesterday - but only went slightly over my cals. It's weigh day tomorrow - I feel really nervous because I have absolutely no idea what they will say! Normally I'm hopping on them every day, so I always know what they will say, but this time I've not weighed in for 10 days! I am preparing myself for a gain - but I may be pleasantly suprised!

FAYE - My boots are specially made for my big ole calves! Normal fitting ones would never fit round my chunky calves, even with the weight loss and toning!

SUSAN - Sorry I missed that you've lost 4lb - congrats! I agree - avocado's are full of good fats - I should eat them more often.

Hi to everyone else!

Love Amanda x

WEDNESDAY: Today is Wednesday's Woes so if you have a gripe today is the day to get it off your chest!

POINTS:

Julie
Amanda

Good morning gals! I am still a little under the weather, but nothing catastrophic. My hormones are just all over the place and I am out of my herbal progestine cream. I don't do HRT because I think it is too dangerous for someone as overweight as I am. Too much controversy. So, I have good days and bad days, but nothing that doesn't turn around back to good days and hey, it will stop sooner or later!

Amanda: We shall see about my shoes. It is the last shot for them! I really liked the second pair I had to send back, but all they had in a larger width was red and I don't want red shoes. If these don't work, I will just bide my time until they get new stock in and start all over again ordering. This place is great because they pay for return shipping!

Susan: I was trying to think of good fat sources, so thanks for your contribute. I love avocado too!

My gripe is my weight routine is mucked up and I have to get on the ball and get it back. I am going to the store tomorrow so all should be right again. I am going to try and get on the treadmill this morning.

Everyone have a wonderful day!

Just never stops at my house - our heat went out yesterday afternoon. Not good with my husband being ill. At least it wasn't too cold out last night so it got down to 64 degrees in the house but we have an electric blanket and quilts so he stayed toasty. I called the heating people and they came first thing this morning and replaced the thermocouple so that was $150 but I'm thankful it wasn't more.

I had 4 points yesterday. I got really ambitious and have all my meals and snacks for February entered into Mastercook so no excuses for not doing what I should. I find that when I preplan I will stick with it - eating on the fly is my downfall. I like Mastercook because it will print the grocery list and recipes as well so I have it all in my notebook now. I'm just aiming for another 2 pounds this month. That would put me back at 158.5.

Julie, keep skating. We all have bad days so don't beat yourself up. Just move on and get back on track.

Hi guys,

Well boo-hoo, I gained back the 3lb I'd lost earlier in the month, making it a total loss of ZILCH for January (and Dec, Nov and Oct ). It's my own fault - I haven't been fully committed, and whilst I could get away with bad eating at the beginning, that is obviously not the case anymore. I need to face the fact that I am going to have to seriously look at my diet and cut out all the rubbish. I have had a pizza tonight as I was feeling shattered and down, but from tomorrow I will commit to giving it 100% effort for the rest of the month - then I shall see what the scales say.

I got 4 points on Tuesday, and 1 point yesterday.

FAYE - Good luck with the shoes - free returns is good, it annoys me when companies charge for delivery & return. I wore my boots shopping today - BIG MISTAKE!! I was virtually crippled after an hour of wearing them - I put them on straight after the gym and my feet and calves were already swollen so they felt tighter than usual - plus, I hadn't cut my toenails and one ended up cutting in to my toe - ouch! I am hoping these are teething problems - they better be as I can't send them back now and they were VERY expensive!

SUSAN - Glad you got your heating fixed promptly. I do envy your discipline - but I guess you don't get to lose 200lb by being slack!

JULIE - Don't worry hon, I've been slack too - completely wasted all Winter when I could have lost 30lb!! Oh well, lets hope Spring brings us better discipline and motivation! Keep up the skating - your butt, hips and thighs will thank you for it later!

Hi too Lee and Carri,

Love Amanda x

Weird day yesterday. Ended up with 2 points for exercise and water. My daughter made jelly filled sugar cookie thingies after dinner, and I ate 3! These things are huge and dense, she has her own "secret" recipe.

I skated fine, learned a 2 jump combination...which was awesome! Except when I fell really hard after going too fast into it. BUT I got new "armor" for my birthday, some funky kind of shock absorbing gell that they make into skating pads. My coach was really concerned when she saw me fall, but I didn't feel a THING! I just got right back up and kept going. They were wicked expensive, but I'm so glad I have them now. It takes alot of the fear out of what I'm doing now.

Amanda, honey, I totally feel your frustration! It seems I can either stay OP and can't get off my butt or I can exercise like crazy but can't stay away from the food! GRRRR........ I really need to lose this weight, really really...I want to take my first skating test this summer and start competing next winter, but I can't do it at this weight. For one thing, I don't think they make tights in my size!

My body is definitely reshaping itself. All my joints have that loosey-goosey feeling, where if I step the wrong way they feel like they slip out of place. Anyone know what I mean? I tell people and they think I'm crazy.

Anyway, I gotta get the kids to school. Everyone have a great day!

TTFN,
Julie

FRIDAY: Today is Fabulous Friday Follies and our Follies ? for the week is have you ever put the "wrong" thing in something you are cooking and what was it, ie supposed to be sugar and you put in salt....

POINTS:

Susan
Julie
Amanda

Carri: We miss you girl and haven't seen you in awhile!

Julie: with all that jumping. Must be all that skating loosening everything up.

Amanda: I would start out a little easier than you did with the boots, maybe 15-20 minutes. Think about it, besides them being new, they have a much higher heel than your feet and calves are used to. Give them several weeks to get broken in. The less weight you put on the feet the better it will be too so as you lose it will be easier to wear them. As for the diet, you can get back up and get things going again. We all can.

Susan: Oooh, glad it was something not too expensive to replace. I know that when our furnace went out, our electric blanket was just the ticket for the chilly nights. We still keep the heat at around 65 at night and kick on the ole blanket if we want more warmth. Hope this doesn't set your hubby back any.

As for the folly, I think it might have been baking soda instead of powder or vice versa, but most of my cooking and baking big booboos were when I was way younger and much more inexperienced. I had been married less than a year, up until then had never made anything more difficult than rice krispie squares, and decided to make beef stroganoff. Most expensive mess I ever made and Jack even ate it the dear, but he does tease me everytime I mention making it!

***FYI don't forget the upgrade is this weekend so it is unlikely there will be any posting until Monday***

Have a great Friday an a super weekend girl and I will catch you on Monday!

Four points for yesterday.

Amanada and Julie, you've got to make a plan to get back on track and not trust to the illusive motivation and inspiration to hit. Which is more important, losing weight or eating the wrong stuff? Like I said before, when I don't have a plan I don't do well.

I still keep a food journal/diary every day - this is the 30th year. Even when it isn't a good day, it gets written down.

Its going to be 70 degrees today so I am going for a walk at lunch time for 30 minutes. Taking DH to doctor this afternoon.

Have a good weekend. Remember - the last bite tastes just the same as the first so don't eat too much.

Hey ladies! It's been a while, but that Korean buffet for 200-300 people that I was so nervous about went GREAT! It was a smash and there were almost no leftovers at all! I worried for nothing, but the relief was amazing, too.

Let's see, they gave me an award for fighting and everyone begged me to post recipes to the email list we're on. I was also asked to teach a class of armoring and fighting for women in the spring.

Donna- I feel your pain. I had jobs like that, and I HATE tucking in my shirts, too. Could you have a covering -loose jacket, or something- to disguise? I think you're right that a belt would help. You could also try to get your pants and shirt in a larger size than you wear so it's still relatively loose and comfy as well as disguising...? What do you ladies think?

Now that 85% of my stress has dissipated, I'm looking to break the 150 barrier this month... I have a free gym membership with a fantastic day care! No reason why I can't do it. Treadmill, here I come!
