Just to let you all know that I'm OK and
recovering from injuries sustained on Sept 11th.
I did not work at World Trade Center, but with
all tunnels, bridges, subways closed off, there
was only one means of transportation to get home
and that was to walk. And while walking over
the bridge to Queens, someone knocked into me
and knocked me down. I broke my right knee and
sprained my left wrist. I have soft tissue
damage, torn cartilege, torn ligaments, and
severe nerve damage to my right knee. I was
hospitalized for a few days, but am now OK.
Our office trunk lines went thru the World
Trade Center, so we had no computer, internet or
email service for 2 weeks. But we're up and
running (a lil slow) now.
I lost a lot of friends and clients on Sept 11th
and our lives will forever be changed.
Dieting seemed so minor in the whole scheme of
events these last 2 weeks, and in the times to
come, whatever our country chooses to do.
Please keep us New Yorkers in your prayers and
thoughts. Our whole city/country/world needs
support at this time.
There are no words to describe how sorry I am. I apologize. It didn't click in my head that you live in New York. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. The magnetude of this loss for you personally, and for us as a nation is astounding. I just give thanks a hundred times over that you are still here with us. I am sorry to hear about your injuries. You are right. In the grand scheme of things, dieting is a very minor thing. I hope that you get better soon. If there is anything any of us can do for you, please let us know.
Susan, I am so very sorry about your losses and your injuries. Please take good care of yourself. I know that your pain is not only physical but heart heavy as well. I know that I along with every person on this forum wish you the very best in health and happiness.

Wow Susan, I'm glad you are "ok", or at least as ok as you can be right now.... I am so sorry to hear of your loss, of frinds, and hope you snap back fully from this.
My heart goes out to you and your friends. Please accept our condolences not only for a loss of friends but the loss of security and inocence.
I am sorry that we did not realize that you were down there. That must have been a horrible experience, my brother also was supposed to be working on the marriott and he too lost many friends in the towers. there is hardly anybody who have not been touched indirectly by this. but to have been experiencing that while we watched in horror is so horrendous. I hope your recovery is speedy physically and the emotional scars although they will last forever i hope and pray that they diminish in pain soon.

I can only say that I am so greatful that you are safe today. The loss that you have suffered is one no one should have expereinced. It isn't fair or comprehensible. It will be a long time before you feel OK and safe. I am sorry for your loss and offer a prayer for you and your continued recovery. Thank you for taking the time to let us know
My prayer are with you. I know it is hard but time helps. It doesn't make it go away but become easier to live with. Please take good care of yourself. Increase your protein whether op or not it help your body to heal. I know from experience what a difference it makes and it will help. God Bless and keep you well.
I also didn't remember that you lived and worked in NYC. I am so sorry that you have been so hurt, but so relieved that you will be okay. I will keep you and your friends in my thoughts and prayers..
Just a note to my extended family here at 3FC.
Thank you so very much from the bottom of my

The city officials keep telling us to 'get back
to normal activities'...but that is so hard to
do...when your business (travel) is sinking,
every couple of days we must evacuate our
building because of a bomb threat, we must endure
car searches to get thru the tunnels to get into
Manhattan, now...no single occupancy cars allowed
(you must car pool or use mass transit), no
messengers are allowed into office buildings,
no more lunch or coffee deliveries are allowed,
office passes are required to enter into buildings, a 'normal' commute of 45 minutes now
takes almost 2 hours (yesterday it took me 3 1/2
hours to get into work and I was on crutches).
Our company laid off 75 employees this week.
And now the floor I work on will be subletted
to another company. So we must all move out of
our offices and squeeze in upstairs on another
floor. But we are happy to still have our jobs
(those of us who are left will have a 25% salary
reduction). But... through all of this we know
we are the lucky ones...we're still alive.
Susan it hurts so much to know that the suffering that you folks there are suffering so much more than the mental anguish, and devastation that you suffered. the financial ruin that is accompaning the trauma. My friend is a red cross volenteer and is beiong send to help for 3 weeks starting on tuesday. She is going without pay and will be having a really hard time for it but she feels that that is the only way she can provide some help. I can only back her and give her the support that she needs to do this. Also to let you down there know that we are still grieving and hurting for your losses there. thought it has been almost 3 weeks we are not forgetting. thank you for the update. and keep us aware of what is happening.
I missed this one too. Susan, are you doing OK? I am so sorry for your loss and hardship. I can only imagine what you must be going through. Please let us know how you are doing.

NYC is slowly returning to its feet and trying
to return to normal. But it will be difficult
to do, as long as there are wakes and funerals
to attend while the victims are being slowly
recovered from the rubble.
So many companies are downsizing due to slow
business and everywhere people are being laid off.
Our office finished its move and consolidated
from 5 floors to 2 1/2 floors. We had one huge
lay-off and according to state law, cannot
reduce the workforce for another 30 days. We'll
see what happens then.
I too am recuperating. My wrist is finally better.
But I have serious damage to my right knee.
I'm scheduled for a nerve block to help deter
pain sensation to the knee area. I have very
severe nerve damage, but they can't operate
because of the nerve damage. The damaged and
torn ligaments and cartilege are healing on their
own. Eventually surgery will remove the bone
fragments floating around. I still need a cane
to walk about...but thank goodness dont need the
crutches anymore.
Now our city is on top top priority alert, as
there are warnings of possible terrorist
retaliation. And everywhere you turn, you
hear about Antrax. I was just at the hospital
yesterday for a knee scan and I heard that the
lady (who was not a postal worker) had just
passed away there. The media people were like
animals surrounding the hospital. It was just
awful. I couldnt get through the crowd.
Finally some of the hospital personnel had to
push away reporters just to make a path for the
patients.
We need all the prayers and good thoughts that
you send us. Thank you, my friends.

to come and I pray for peace and the cease of terrorism.
