wonderful to meet you, diane, and you're doing great. i'm with you with that resetting the dump-o-meter. it takes work - and about 2 weeks, from what i hear!
the fact that you've completed a triathlon at about 100 pounds overweight is such an ENORMOUS accomplishment! i'm so impressed!!!
overall, it sounds like you're well on the way to meeting the rest of your goals. i can share with you what a wise nutritionist told me, about meal composition... maybe it'll help!
each and every meal, including breakfast, should have some veggie component. cherry tomatoes and cucumbers count. and i often eat them at breakfast.
the plate should be 40% protein, 40% veggies, and 20% high-quality carbs, not more than 15 grams per meal [after deducting fiber]. so, this means that acorn squash and potatoes aren't usually consumed in the same meal!
one piece of fruit per day, and it should be consumed with protein [fruit and cheese, or yogurt or cottage cheese, for example].
when i stick with this, i do GREAT. when i slip chocolate in there, i get into trouble. can't be more honest than that!!!!
so glad you're here with us!!!!
oh. one more thing. keep an eye on the glycemic index of what you eat. head for the low-GI fruits and other carbs.
