great job Amanda!

Yesterday was pretty busy. I went to the commissary to get baking stuff to make my pies and such. My husband wanted to use my new mixer and made a blondie recipe that turned out nasty. I am not sure whether it was his fault or the recipe's as it was a layered blondie with carmel between and there wasn't enough batter in my opinon to have two layers. Anyway, I ended up cleaning up the mess because he made the stuff, put it in the oven then went and sat down and watched NASCAR qualifying saying he would clean it up later. Now you ladies know what batter in a bowl does being left let alone carmel! I ended up being in kind of a nasty mood the rest of the evening as my legs and ankles hurt yesterday from the cold and I walked a lot and stood a lot yesterday. All I have to do is get through Thanksgiving then I am strict dieting like nobody's business. Jack is going to go back on it with me and we are going to get those lbs off by next December for our vacation.

Everyone have a nice Sunday!

What is it with men and "treating us" by cooking? My husband did a nearly identical thing! He said "I want to treat you and cook dinner" and then used every dish, pot, and utensil in our known existence and leaves it and food all over the kitchen!

So guess who ends up cleaning it all up? Why is it that when a man wants to treat us it just creates more work to be done?

Julie- Sounds like you are doing great with the ice skating! You never do anything halfway.. ha ha! So when do we get to see you doing some of these jumps and spins?

I'm dying to see Harry Potter too, but I think I'll wait a week or so until the furor dies down. Sounds like it's insanely busy.

I only got 2 points yesterday. I'm too sick to eat anyhow, so it wasnt hard. I wish hubby would take the kids so i could sleep, though...

Up at 4 every morning.. asleep at 7.. I hope the kids start sleeping regular hours soon so i can stay up with the grownups again.

Morning All - sounds like you are all doing well...I am trying to decide if I should eat lunch now ( yes at 10:45am ) as I have to eat dinner with dh's grandma at 3:00 ... I dont know why she likes to eat dinner that early

Anyway I am doing great again staying OP, and I lost 5 pounds last week! However I am getting down thinking that all the Thanksgiving food might send me into another binge spiral , but I have made up my mind to eat what I want that day and the next ( since leftovers will be around ) and then back on and back to the gym... the only reason I lost so much this last week was because of the gym anyhow ... so I am feeling pretty good about myself, but just want to get back under 200, right now I am sitting at 205, which sucks but oh well, onward we go, right??

I have missed too much to do individual replies plus I need to get in the shower so I just wanted to stop in and say Hello ... congrats to all those last lost last week ( woohoo Julie ) ... talk later!!!

Hello, ladies. Doctor was happy with me since according to his records I was down 9 pounds since last time. Maybe his scale is wrong...or mine.

My husband is not doing well at all. I took him to get a renal panel test done and 2 hours later the doctor from the emergency room called and said I should get him to the hospital immediately! His hemoglobin was down to 6.6 (should be between 13.7 and 17.2) and his other levels were off too and the lab tech called emergency. Now, this is not the hospital I take him to and he was not about to get admitted there since none of his doctors goes there. We have an appointment with his kidney doctor on Tuesday and he said he wasn't doing anything until then. After speaking with the doctor a little more, she says "well, you know this could be indicitative of renal failure" and I told her he had already been diagnosed with that. That calmed her down a little. I really am worried about him. He is getting very weak and can hardly eat. Hopefully tomorrow the doctor will be able to do something. When we were at his heart doctor's office on Friday, he said he thought his symptoms were a worsening of the renal condition and not his heart because that was stable.

Please keep us in your prayers.

Wow, Susan! I hope it works out! That sounds so very serious. So what are they going to do about it? Can they do anything?

Well, my family is all recovering from their cold/flu yesterday and today. Looks like last night was the mark for "officially recovered". Which is great because tomorrow we're headed to Julie's house and we don't want to hand this to their three kids!

I'm actually going to be missing Thanksgiving completely this year. Canadians celebrate it in October (which we missed because we're in NY) and we'll be missing American Thanksgiving because we're taking the time off to visit the Canadian family for a few days. (Julie's house is on the way.) So I can't tell if this is a good thing- no overeating- or a bad thing- no family holiday silliness and fun.

Carri and Amanda! Sounds like you guys are on fire! That's great!

Yesterday I got all of 0 points.. (I know, I know) but today is a whole new day and a new start and I feel great, too!

Hello all,

I got 4 points on Sunday, but only 1 yesterday. I'm getting really disheartened at not losing weight for soooooooo long! I am going to wait for my TOM to be over (which will be tomorrow) and if I still haven't lost any weight, then I am going to have to lower my calories. I've pretty much been at 1600 cals since March, so maybe my body has got too used to that amount. The thing is I am doing so much exercise that I don't want to go too low - I'll probably start by going down to 1500 and see how that goes - anything to get the weight shifting again!

SUSAN - My heart goes out to you! I am so sorry that your dh is so poorly - if he has renal failure, is there any chance of a transplant? I will keep you both in my prayers.

LEE - ANN - Glad your household has recovered from the sickness! Missing Thanksgiving can only be a good thing for your diet can't it? Being from the UK, we don't celebrate it at all so I have no excuse to overeat (until Christmas! ).

Afternoon All ...it is getting really cold here today, it is going to be cold temps and windy flurries for the Thanksgiving holidays...I like that though, just don't like my heat bill, ha ha ... Faye, hope you are enjoying our cold Indiana weather

Susan - I am so sorry to hear that your dh is not well, I will certainly keep you and dh in my thoughts and prayers, I hope you have a good Thanksgiving. Take care.

Amanda - I too am getting my TOM this week ( well maybe I have not had one for two months so it would be nice to get one this month, and I have a gyno appt on 12/1 ) ...but with that and all the Thanksgiving food I am certain I may gain back all 5 pounds I lost last week ... but so what ... I can then get back to business next week... I want to enjoy myself.

LeeAnn - glad your family is feeling better... have fun at Julies!!!

Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving, I am taking time off from work so I will not be back in here probably until next week ... take care all !!!

Good morning ladies. The doctor admitted my husband to the hospital yesterday. At 9:40 last night they called to tell me they were moving him to ICU so he could be monitored more closely. It's a combination of the renal failure and the CDEF (intestinal infection) again - or still. There is no hope of a transplant because of the congestive heart failure (would need both kidneys and heart at the least) and he doesn't want to go through it. It took 9 tries to get an IV started so they could give him much needed blood so today they are probably going to insert a shunt-type thing into his chest so they can administered blood and other IV solutions. I am living from hour to hour at this point.

I hope all of you are well and have a happy Thanksgiving - don't be caught in the shopping on Friday!

Hello all,

I got 4 points yesterday - AND I've lost another pound! It's not much, but I'll take it!

SUSAN - Oh you poor thing, I am so sorry for what you are going through. I will pray with all my heart that your hubby makes a good recovery and comes out of this stronger than ever. You are both in my thoughts and prayers.

LOG cabin - It feels weird calling you that! You are very welcome to join us! I am glad you like the look of our group - we are very friendly and supportive to eachother. My name is Amanda, I am 32 years old and from Sheffield, England. I am currently on sickness benefit due to depression, but am feeling better all the time. I enjoy working out at the gym, reading, things that make me laugh, CSI and my cat, Marley! We are a bit quiet at the moment cause of Thanksgiving, but everyone will be back soon!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU ALL!!

Hi everyone!

Susan--I'm so sorry for all your troubles. May they pass quickly so you and your husband can enjoy a quiet holiday together. You're in my prayers!

Amanda--CONGRATS on the 1 pound!! After a long plateau, I know how good any loss at all feels. Keep up the great work, and don't let the holidays sabotage all your effort.

Carrie--We had snow up here on Wed. and THurs. It was only a few inches, but enough to make one of those absolutely glorious "day afters" where the sun is brilliant and the air is crisp and everything looks like it's covered in glitter. A really wonderful way to start the Christmas season.

Up North--Welcome to our little group!! We've all been a bit quiet during the holiday, but our fearless leader gets back from vacation soon... I'm 37, mom of 3 kids (6, 10 &11), happily married to the man of my dreams. I teach belly dance at night, I write during the day, and I'm learning to figure skate. That's about my life in a nutshell.

Faye, hope you're staying safe and having a wonderful visit!

Talk to everyone soon,
Julie

Hello folks,

Well I don't want to jump the gun, but................I think my plateau is over! After an 8 week drought, I have lost 3lb this week and am finally back in the weight loss zone (I hope!). I would be doing lots of dancing banana's and such, but the smilies don't seem to be working! I now have only 3lb to lose before I have lost 4 stone - which to you folks is 56lb. I really hope that things will get moving again now as that plateau has really kept me back.

Well I went out on the town with my friend last night and we had such fun! It was the first time I have been out to a bar in years - I was a bit worried that people would be full of attitude and I would feel out of place because of my weight, but that was not the case at all, everyone was really friendly and were just having fun, and there were lots of 'big' women out, they all obviously don't lock themselves away for years like I have done! I got dressed up really nice in smart jeans, nice top and high heel boots - I straightened my hair, AND put make up on (I haven't worn make up in 10 years!) - I must say I felt pretty good about myself! I tried to get Nigel to take photo's, but our camera is rubbish and they came out all blurry. I am disappointed as I really wanted to have some photo's of me looking my best. The good news is my friend and I had such a good time that we are going to go out once a month - so I'll try again to get a decent photo. It was so nice to go out and just have a laugh - I got pretty drunk and ended up dancing most of the night, which is something I never thought I would do as I am usually too self conscious!

Hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving!

SUSAN - Hope your dh is fighting back and is getting all the care he needs to get through this.

Love Amanda x
