First off, I want to welcome Suzy to our little group!!! Suzy, this is a GREAT group of ladies & you will love it here! I am 42, married, two daughters ages 6 and very soon to be 21!!! YIKES! I can't believe I have a kid that age! I still feel that age!!! LOL!

I have been busy taking care of family stuff and also putting out fires so to speak. We had a family get together over the weekend and I had to keep the peace and smooth out any ruffled feathers from my "wonderful" family members. I saw my sister yesterday, first time in 7 years, I refused to have a conversation with her though...I am still upset with her behavior over how she has treated my mom. So...once again I am the butthead in the family. At least I know I am doing everything in my power to provide my mother with as much peace as possible in her elderly years.

I just received this from Ramona, I will post it as I received it:

Hi Gayle. I hope you are doing fine. I've been reading some of the posts and wanted to drop a line, but the forum won't let me in. If you would please tell everyone that I miss them and think of them every day. Also please welcome the new members for me.

Without boring anyone with a lot of detail, I've got some health issues and I'll be seeing several specialists in the month of December. I'll also get some results this week sometime of some earlier tests. Right now I'm on some medication that makes me pretty loopy and I just go to bed after work. I'm at my highest weight of all times and I'm pretty depressed over that. But, I'll just have to take things one at a time.

Again, please send my love to everyone and my thanks to all those who have asked about me.

Love you,
Ramona

Ramona, sweetie, you know you will always be in my thoughts & prayers!!!

Well better go! I hope everyone had a nice weekend!

Prayers being sent to you, Ramona!! I miss and love you! Don't fret about the weight gain. Just get your health back, and quit stressing out about everything!!

Gayle-Thanks for letting us know about Ramona. I'm sorry to hear about your family woes. Too bad your sister is so awful. I have a SIL like that.

Suzy-Great job on the weight loss!! Keep up the fantastic work!

Good Monday morning everyone!

Nice to meet you Gayle! I sure can relate to those family get togethers...sounds just like the ones we have here! Fun isn't it?
I'm cooking Thanksgiving dinner for the whole family this year and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well and we have peaceful meal! It's going to be stressful enough without our youngest being here (he's in Iraq) so we really don't need any dramatics...if you know what I mean.

I obviously don't know Ramona, but I hope the testing goes well for her and that she can get back in the group soon!

Thank you both for the congratulations...honestly I never thought I would make it this far! Hopefully I'll see the 140's this week...I haven't seen the 140's since before I had my kids, so it's going to be a pretty big deal for me once I do get there!

Suzy: I'm sending special "140's" vibes your way!!!!!

Sher: LOVE THE NEW PIC! I best Chris is as thrilled as you to know he will be home for Christmas!

Shelley: I envy you today...it turned off into a major cold spell, we have huge wind gust blowing and I can feel the bitter cold in the air. Thank goodness no snow yet! Last night at dusk, Steve 7 I went walking and it was perfectly calm and I needed only a light jacket, about 3 hours later all heck was breaking loose!

Gotta go! Need to get Allison to school!

Ok, I'm back! gotta tell you girls a cute story! You all know how I am about animals and how Steve has made me promise no more until some of these start passing away??? Last night we were on our walk...pretty soon, here was a pretty little kitty cat...so being the animal lover I am, I preceeded to give her a gentle few strokes on the head...so now we have a walking partner...this goes on for two trips up and down the road. Then right as it is getting dark, here is a cute little spotted puppy looking lost. Just down the street some people have a litter of spotted pups so I JUST KNEW it had gotten out of their fence. I picked the puppy up and off I went to do a good deed and return the little escapee. I found the man that lived there and he said NO, someone else had placed the dog in his yard thinking it was his too and he had just removed it. You could tell by the size difference of the pups it really wasn't his... I tried talking him into consenting to just one more...I even tried the guilt trip of asking how bad he would feel if the poor thing ended up getting hit by a car...no workie... so, as we are walking back home, here I have this cute puppy with his paws wrapped around my neck (will be a larger dog) and I'm saying God, why do you put me into this position? Why are you testing me? No way on earth could I just turn the puppy loose to get hurt (we live close by a highway) Long story short, I setup a blankie/food/water on our deck where she could stay or easily go on back home...guess what? She stayed all night sleeping like a baby and she is still here this morning. I go to work later and if she is still here when I get home, I will probably try to take her to the shelter. I would love to keep her but we can not afford the food/medical expense and the cost to have her fixed. We live just far enough from town, we never know if it is a pet from the area or if it is a stray someone dumped out. Anyone want a CUTE puppy??? What do you think shipping would run??? LOL!

Gayle your puppy story is amuzing. All animals know how sweet and lovable you are. You know that strong wind that you have, guess what we are sending it your way. Until last night we didn't have any snow on the ground. We had a snow storm and we have about two feet of the white stuff now.
Thanks for posting the letter from Ramona. I think of her often. Prayers will definitely be sent her way.

Sherry I love your new picture. You look great.

Suzy I know that you can hit the 140's, you are doing great. Welcome to our group. A little late welcoming you but better late than never.

Shelley how are you doing? I have to do some catching up here, Larry had me preocuppied for the last little while. lol
When I have more time to post I will tell you all about my lovely weekend.

I need to go peel my potatoes so off I go. Miss you ladies!

Gayle-Can't you have just 1 more?? What happened to the kitty? Did she continue to follow you home? You just have that "animal attraction!"

Sherry-Your new picture is great! Maybe we should all set a limit on how long our "old pictures" can be our avatars, so that we can picture each other as we go day by day. I know that I stopped straightening my hair again and my picture shows me straight. I still haven't gotten it highlighted. The hurricane was here the day I was supposed to go. Maybe that was a sign not to have it done?

Dee-Please do let us know how the vacation went. You always give such vivid details and we can picture everything so clearly.

Have a great day, everyone!

The kitty went on home Shelley...can't have one anyways because Steve is allergic to them. It was heartbreaking, but we took the puppy to the animal shelter yesterday after work. I had made up my mind if she was still on the deck after work, then she would go. She played really well with Allison, it's just we have nothing setup for another creature and she would need to stay outdoors. ALTHOUGH...I did tell them I would call next Monday to see if the owner had surfaced or if she was adopted out, if she is still there we could go ahead and adopt her...they are keeping the animals only 1-1.5 weeks before putting them down if not adopted. I know, I'm a sucker...

Dee, please update us! Glad you had fun!!!!

I'll be back to post more later! HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!

The question of the day...............

Would you be willing to give up something you love, or something you live for?
Why would you give it up and how much would it be worth to you to give it up?

If I'm understanding the question Dee, then NO I would not be willing...no amount of wealth would be worth giving up the important people in my life.
I love my family and I also live for my family.

Depends on how you are using the word "love"...if it would mean giving up my husband, children or grandchildren, then the answer would be no, there isn't anything that I would give them up for. Now if you're talking about LOVE as in "I LOVE cookies!" or something along those lines, then my answer would be yes.

Gayle, I can't imagine how hard it must have been to take the puppy to the shelter...I hope someone adopts him soon!

Sherry, it's wonderful that your son will be home for Christmas! What a present! You must be SO excited!
