Unhappy Cranberry Sauce Recipe Help

Last year I made Core cranberry sauce with fresh cranberries and splenda but it wasn't thick enough for me.

Some time ago, a person at my meeting said she put SF jello in hers and it firmed it up nicely. I couldn't get to her that day before she left and she hasn't been back. Do any of you have a recipe for this? I'm not very creative and hate to waste ingredients experimenting.

I'm not even sure what flavor jello (I heard they have SF cranberry but I haven't seen it anywhere) to use that wouldn't interfere with the cranberry flavor. I hope one of you creative folks can help me out. Thanks!

I found this:

Jellied Cranberry Sauce

Category: Cranberry Sauce
Serves/Makes: 8 | Difficulty Level: 3 | Ready In: < 30 minutes

Ingredients:
12 ounces bag cranberries
3 1/2 cups water
1 cup equivalent Splenda or other artificial sweetener of choice
1 package cranberry jello

Directions:
Sort through cranberries, tossing out any that are bad. Combine berries and water in a saucepan, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until berries burst and are tender. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Put berry mix in food processor or blender and pulse to desired degree of puree. Add artificial sweetener and jello mix. Pour into bowl and chill.

For a more the jellied variation, increase the quantity of cranberries and artificial sweetener but keep the quantity of jello the same.

I guess the only problem with that one is the cranberry flavored jell-o. Maybe closer to Thanksgiving they'll have more of it out? Just a guess ... but I'll keep looking.

Here's something different:

SUGAR - FREE CRANBERRY SAUCE

2 pkgs. cranberries
3 apples, diced
2 pkgs. Equal or sugar substitute

Cook until tender, about 30 minutes in a 3-quart kettle. Stir occasionally.

Vickie, I did a search on kraftfoods.com in the 60477 area and came up with this:

Stores that have Sugar-Free Cranberry Jell-o

I hope this helps some.

Boy you are one smart cookie! Even gave me the list for Tinley Park! You're the best. Jim is at one of the Jewel stores on the list as I type!

I'm VERY excited. It doesn't take much, does it? I LOVE chunky cranberry sauce. I eat it with steak and all kinds of other foods. We aren't home at Thanksgiving but I'm taking the sauce and a crustless pumpkin pie with me to my Sister's house. Everything else will be Core, including the mashed potatoes.

Thanks VERY much for finding this for me Kathy.

I have a question about this recipe ... is "2 pkgs." meant to mean two of the small packages that you'd get with your coffee at a restaurant?

You know, I never thought about it but I guess so! And geez ... it doesn't seem like much, does it? Hmmm ... now where did I get that recipe and how can I find out for sure?
