Hi Gals...

Jane--I hope you get some photos of your DGD's halloween costumes. I bet they're just adorable!! I'm sad that I won't be handing out candy this year since I have to work tomorrow night. But I guess in a sense, it keeps the candy out of my house!! Didn't buy one bag of it this year!

Connie--I know exactly how you feel about not having the motivation to get moving. It seemed like I was in such a rut for such a long time. I'm finally getting out of that rut, even though I still have days that I just feel lousy, but keep pushing myself, because in the long run, I'm going to feel great. ANd I know you will too once you get going.

Sue--Glad to hear that you made it to Vegas safely. Try and get some rest and have your body. That's got to be hard w/the zone changes plus the daylight savings at the same time!!

Hello to all the others!!

Had a wonderful dinner w/James. We made Oven fried chicken and some side dishes, and he made some homemade bread. Was all so good! Felt like such a huge meal! But it was nice quality time spent w/him too!

Ok...I really should clean up and go to bed. You all have a great Monday!

Happy Halloween!!

Good morning, and Happy Halloween!

Just a quick pop-in, mandatory overtime today, gotta work 10 hours, bleah.

We didn't buy candy, but bought a big box of Brach's/Minute Maid chewy fruit snack packs at Costco, we'll give out as many as the kids come for tonight, and if there are any left, then they are only 1 pt a piece, and wouldn't be so bad to take in our lunches Carved a couple of cool pumpkins -- Tim drew two ninjas having a battle (it came out great!), and I did a pattern of mice on the front, with a big cat face cut out in back that casts the candle shadow of the cat on the wall behind the jack-o-lantern...really cool!

Finally hit 20 lbs exactly this Saturday! It's taken about 5 months to lose 20 lbs, so it's slow going, but at least it's coming off...

No time for individuals this morning, since I gotta fly out the door...but Connie, I just wanted to say that what really worked for me this time was to do it with someone else -- Tim is doing it with me, but if not your spouse, then maybe a friend, or a relative, or a co-worker. It really helps to have someone you spend a lot of time with to kind of cheer each other on (and help each other back up if you stumble). Going to WW meetings and the weekly weigh-in is important to me too, gives me that regular accountability. And coming here, of course! I came here and made friends and posted for about a year and a half, I think, before I finally said, "that's it, I'm going back to WW!"

Anyway, gotta run, as usual. Today I have to call back the hand specialist and schedule that horrid needles-and-electric-shocks test, ugh, I am so dreading this!

Talk to you soon, ladies...(((hugs)))...

Good Morning Ladies--

MaryKate--Congratulations on the 20lbs mark!! That's fantastic! I have to agree w/you on buddying up w/someone....If James wasn't watching what he eats and exercising, I probably wouldn't be doing so either. Even though he's gone most of the time, when we are together, we talk about what we've done exercise wise and what we've eaten, to kind of keep us up to date on it all. It's been great having him support me and then compliment me.

So Connie--If you can find someone to buddy up with, that may be a great help.

Jane--How did the little trick or treaters look? What did they dress up as? Now, did your town do trick or treating last night? Or are they actually doing it tonight? We have several who have taken the night off from work to take their kids out. The wind is blowing and it's really cold.......I hope they're all going to bundle the kids up!!

James just left a half hour ago to head back to K-Falls. We had such a wonderful weekend together. I have to get my workout in today and then make some more cookies that a lot of co-workers requested for our Halloween treats at work. So I think I'll get myself started!!

Talk to you all later!

Good morning ladies,

MaryKate - YAY for the 20 pounds gone!! You have to be feeling so psyched about that. The pumpkins you and Tim carved sound great. You both must be artistically gifted.

Marti - our town allowed two days for trick or treating. Yep, the kids all looked so cute, and were excited about the whole event, lol. The twins were fairies, Caylin was a ballerina, Mackenzie Jo was a NASCAR guy and Macy was Dora the Explorer. So cute!! Did Jhanai go?

Cristi - hope you make it back today and that you've had a wonderful trip.

Yikes, I can hardly believe it's November already. Christmas is 7 weeks from Sunday. First of all, though, I have to get through Neal's retirement party Saturday, lol. I'm thinking I have everything under control, but will go over the paperwork again afterwhile. You know me, I have a file for everything, lol. The school colors are navy and gold, so I'm using those colors on the tables, and have a big Happy Retirement banner, too. His sister's DH is going to give the blessing, and after we eat dinner, I'm going to say a few words about his accomplishments. Then dessert. There will be music and a lot of fun. Unless I forgot something, tee hee.

As for today, I need to do laundry, cleaning, and some paperwork. What's on your agenda today?

Happy First Day of November Ladies!

I can not believe it is November! Jeez, where has the time gone?! Christmas is right around the corner and I am not even ready for it! Oh well...

Made it back in time for trick-or-treaters last night. Actually got home about 3:30'ish. Just in time for Jeopardy! Then I took a much needed nap. Didn't have many trick-or-treaters at all, maybe 20, 25 if that. They didn't start till about 6:45, closer to 7 p.m. Guess they all do other stuff, or they just don't come down our little cul-de-sac.

Katiecat~ to your first 20 pounds lost! You and DH have done an awesome job, very proud of you!

Marti~ on your loss also!

Jane~had a WONDERFUL trip & time!!

I changed my ticker last night but not the weight, changed that this morning when I weighed in. I was surprised to see I am 2.5 lbs. down from last Monday. Of course it may be a little more because of TOM. My NSV was when I put my new jeans on Saturday and they were loose! Of course when I bought them and tried them on they were a little tight around the waist but I figured it was because of TOM then. Didn't think anymore about them until I wore them Saturday and then the other pair Sunday and I was so surprised! I put them on and oh my goodness! Anyway, that made my day!

Nothing much going on today excep lots of laundry and a little bit of cleaning to get done.

Hi to everyone else! Take care and have a great day ladies!

Hello gals!!

Jane--Boy, what a way to put the days in perspective!! Only 7 weeks until Christmas??? Who put time on fast forward? I just know that Neil is going to have a lovely retirement party. It sounds like such a wonderful thing! You must tell us all how it goes when it's all over.

Cristi--WTG on 2.5lbs gone!!! Fantastic!! And hurray on the loose jeans!! You've got to be feeling pretty good!! Perfect NSV!!

Question for you gals, you find it easier or harder to lose weight around the holidays?

I find that I'm more motivated to lose weight. I think it's because my birthday is in January and I always want to acheive something before then. Halloween Candy never made it to my house, but I haven't deprived myself on holiday treats that come to work. I just don't go crazy like I used to. I like the energy I have and I like how I'm feeling. Although, my skin will never be tight like when I was younger, I'm at least making a difference. That makes me feel good.

I got on the gazelle today, then I spent half an hour vacuuming, sweeping, and moping my wood floors!! Boy!! Talk about working up a sweat!! At least my house smells fresh!

Ok....going to browse a bit and then get some things done. You all have a great day!

Happy Wednesday Ladies

Such a BEAUTIFUL day today! Supposed to get up in the high 70's today, tomorrow and Friday and then get ugly and grey. Soaking up the rays while I can. Did the wal-mart thing today, as usual. Then headed to the bookstore...got lunch since I skipped breakfast...came home, ate and then picked up leaves and mowed the front yard. Since I didn't get in a walk this morning, other than through wally world...thought I would mow the front and back yard. Will do the back later this evening, or possibly about 4. Did get in some walking while we were gone so that was good and now need to get back on my schedule.

Marti~wanna come and clean my house? Jason & Carrie actually kept it clean while we were gone so it's not so bad. Just need to vacuum. Got all my laundry done yesterday thank goodness! About your question...I don't find it harder or easier, it's really the same. I don't bake a lot anytime of the year so there's just as many goodies around during the holidays as any other time. Which happen to be none. I did have two candies on Halloween night and I do bake cookies once in a great while but I really don't eat anymore during the holidays. We don't go to a bunch of dinners and I don't work so no problem there. I do cook a bigger meal for Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve but I make enough to last 2 days. And I don't deprive myself of anything.I have found that if I try to cut out everything that I like and want I end up eating too much and that's not good so I eat what I want. Besides...after cooking such a big meal I am too pooped to eat. Just want to sit down.

Hi to everyone

Well, need to get going...lots of things to do, kind of... Thinking I will just go mow the back yard now instead of later so I can take a long break before dinner. Have a good one ladies!

Hiya ladies,

Cristi - no details about your trip? I bet your soldier was so glad to see family. YAY for the loss and looser jeans. You're doing just wonderful, Cristi.

Marti - I think it's harder to control eating during the holidays for me, personally. We go to so many social things, but at least nowdays there are usually some healthy foods offered just about everywhere. How I got through it last year was to plan ahead. But then, that's how I get through every other day, too.

Katy, Angie and Susan - where are you???

Hi also to Mary Kate, Sue, Connie, and the others.

Today went by so fast! (just like the rest of the year). I had some errands this morning, then Katie came home for lunch, which she usually doesn't do, so I hung out with her awhile. After that, I sat with Mary's kids while she went to the doctor, and before I knew it, it was dinnertime.

Katie is applying to be a college intern at Walt Disney World. They're doing preliminary interviews at her school tomorrow, and she's sooooo excited. For her sake, I hope she gets in. She'd be gone about 6 months, and I'd miss her like crazy, but we raise our kids to turn them loose. She won't know if she gets in for about 2 - 3 weeks.

Gonna surf for a bit... take care and I'll see you tomorrow.

Hello ladies. Nice to hear that you all had a Happy Halloween and didn't get into the candy too much. We didn't have candy in the house at all.
We just got home from a long afternoon and evening at Sam's Town casino. Had a good time and I won a little money....
Sounds like everyone is doing so well on their eating and exercising. I must say I am getting in walking, but not as much as I should. It is warm outside and I finally have the house in order, so no reason I can't get out and walk starting tomorrow. We are enjoying our meals here...what's not to like, I don't have to cook them.

Take care JL's....

OMG Jane wouldn't that be something if Katie got to work there? *Breathing heavy... we should of called this place Disney Fans instead of Jaded Ladies.
I had a great day...went to work early,,,ok that bit..we had snow and rain last night,,it froze and so I skated to work. Big parking lot of vehicles that inched their way along. Anyways what takes me 6 minutes took me 25 minutes this morning. Had to work 4.5 hours today so I broke it up so I could go do my yearly physical oh yay! But after I went and took a nap then went back to work.
I lost .6 lbs this week..kinda measly but Ill take it. I had a rough week. And did my emotional binge. *sigh

Cristi,,,so how did the trip go? Josh doing ok? And I think you are doing fantastic with your weight loss. Keep it up!

Marti,,,there is halloween candy every where I look..Both kids have tons each. Brandon works at Superstore and got everything for half price..Tanner did his last year of trick or treating. He has tons...work has tons...I can resist everything but PB cups.

Hey Sue,,,feeling all settled? I am jealous of the warm weather you have while its chilly here....ok its not just chilly its down right cold. brrrr

well off to bed...night all

Morning ladies...

Not much to say, not feeling so great today. Feel like I am coming down with a cold...to top it off somehow I hurt my back. Well, I actually have a pinched nerve and it doesn't feel so great. Just gotta keep moving around and I will be fine. Don't feel like doing anything, but I know if I just lay or sit down it will be worse so need to keep moving. Won't get in the walk I wanted to today but will get on and off the treadmill a few times just to keep moving around. It actually does feel better when I am moving around so if I do a little and sit, do a little and sit...I will be fine.

Jane~no, no details-don't want to bore everyone. Not much to tell anyway. We flew in, did a few things which didn't really matter. All that mattered was time with Josh and it was the best! Did get lots of pics, might get some scanned and on yahoo later to share. Just hated saying bye and still feel a little sad leaving him. So what kind of internship would Katie be doing at DisneyWorld? Sounds fun and I do hope she gets it! Your day was like our weekend...it went by way too fast!

Sue~wishing I was there with you in Vegas! My Aunt just moved there a couple of months ago. I'm thinking she likes it, not sure. She always wanted to move there and so now she's there.

Angie~we did have a great time while in GA. Nothing really do to in Columbus but just spending time with Josh was enough-that's what we were there for. Their competition was great! Got it all on the movie camera. It took us a while to figure out which one was him! It's funny because when they all have the same clothes on and the hat kind of hanging over their faces...they all look alike! His platoon didn't win but they ALL did good! There was 4 platoons that competed and the winner(s) got a trophy and braggin rights! Not sure what they judged them on but a couple of the guys (in the other platoons) did mess up a little, couldn't keep up. Quite a few parents, GF's and wives there. He looked a little different because he has lost so much weight. He said the last time he weighed he was at 165 and had lost 20 lbs. but he looked a lot skinnier. But he looked good and is fine. He has five weeks left of basic, well, almost four now, and he said he didn't look forward to it. In the briefing they said they have a 12 mile walk coming up and that's what he didn't look forward to. That and a 10 mile walk. I think he is tired of walking! As are some of the other guys. I heard a lot of them saying their ankles hurt. WTG on your loss this week! Hey, a loss is a loss so you can be proud of yourself and no matter the loss, in the end it adds up. Sorry you had a rough week. OOooo, I don't look forward to your weather. I am hoping we don't have a bad winter. The snow I can deal with, but the ice...ick! Our weather is/has been so weird not sure what winter will be like. Today it is supposed to hit 78-80! And I have the air on as I did yesterday. Not supposed to be this warm in November in KS.

Anyway...Hi to everyone else.

Going to go attempt a short walk on the treadmill, a few short walks actually. I probably won't get in 2-3 miles today but as long as I get in something that is fine with me. Need a break! But don't want to take too long a break for fear of getting lazy. I am liking that I am losing and I don't want to gain anything back. Other than that not much on the agenda for today, a couple of loads of laundry, oh joy!

Have a good one ladies!

Morning Gals--

I'm sitting here on only a few hours sleep, but James was leaving so I got up to say goodbye. I thought I would pop in really quick before I head back to bed.

Cristi--I feel the same way....never cut anything out of what I eat. Otherwise.....I'm wanting it. So I've learned to concentrate on portion control. It's not always easy, but at least I never feel deprived. This year for Thanksgiving I told James that I want a small turkey!! Every year he buys a 20lbs (or more) turkey and it's only the three of us!!! I probably have turkey in my freezer up until Easter! But I'm really looking forward to having that day to just "pig" out. I always do and I probably will never stop.

Jane--Oh what exciting news for Katie!! I'll keep my fingers crossed that she gets the internship!! I'm sure that the next 2-3 weeks will feel like an eternity for her!! But if it's meant to be, then she'll get it! I agree w/the time going by so fast.....sometime I feel like my heads ready to spin because of it! I feel like at times I just can't keep up!

Sue--Sounds like a luxury not having to cook!! Hurray on winning money!! Anytime I go gamble......I never win. Sheesh. but James does. So I suppose it evens out....how I'm not sure..................

Angie--Work seems to have treats all the time lately! I've done well w/not pigging out on a lot of it, even though there are time that I just want to sit and eat everything in site!! Wonderful news about the weightloss. Any loss is worth celebrating! So don't even think that it's not. It could be worse, you could be gaining. So congrats on the .6lbs!!

Hello to the rest of you gals!!

Well...I must get back to bed and at least sleep another couple hours. I have the "Biggest Loser" recorded from the other day that I like to workout while watching. Seems to motivate me watching that show.

Ok....I may check in later. Chat w/you then.

Back again for a few minutes.

Marti~I caught a few episodes of The biggest Loser and it got me interested. Definitely would be motivating. I like seeing the amazing end results of whoever was kicked off the show! I usually get a 20-23 pound turkey and we are lucky to have it for leftovers the next day!! The guys love their turkey! I like it but don't eat so much. I fix a lot of different dishes and try to try a little bit of each but it never works. It is one day, actually two that I plan on pigging out and don't! Hope you got some sleep!
