NOVEMBER Points Challenge!!

  • November...The year is almost over...Winter is coming. How have you done this year?? There is still time!! Why not join our challenge to help keep you on the straight and narrow? If you are just beginning, starting over or are doing great - this is the place for you! It's somewhere to check in...some freindly competition. Come join us for our monthly challenge!!

    Since this is a monthly challenge, it will start on the 1st and the day of the month is the day of the challenge. You need to post your points on a daily basis (or whenever you can). Simply reply to this post and then edit that post as you add points (no columns please). That way you always know where you are and so do I! I will calculate and post the totals, on a weekly basis.

    For those of you who have NO IDEA what I am talking about - here are the details. Sometimes we work our hardest when we are held accountable. So I challenge you to do your very best for the month and we'll see who wins!!

    Here is how it's going to go. Starting Wednesday, November 1, 2006. We will try to do the 3 things that work. Food, water & exercise. You decide what your food plan is, how much water you want to drink and how much exercise you want to get every day. Every day you have the opportunity to earn 4 points.

    2 point for sticking with your food plan (no splitting points here, you either stuck to your plan or you didn't)
    1 point for drinking the amount of water you decided on
    1 point for getting some exercise. (If you don't exercise on a given day - you DO NOT get a point for exercise - even if you planned it that way)

    Post here with how many points you've earned for a given day, and I will keep track. We'll see who's did the best for the month.

    This is a very cool way to keep on track, because even if you don't do so great on food, you might still get in your water and exercise to earn the points!

    If you list your "plan of attack" here, please make a point to also post it in the Point Challenge Plans. I delete all the posts after I have tallied so this thread doesn't become unmanageable, but it's nice to be able to go look at what someone's plan is. I have created a new Point Challenge Plans post for 2006 becuase the old one started in 2002 and it was pretty outdated. So please repost your plan (if you want to!)

  • I'm in again! LOVE the Points Challenge! It keeps me from using my WW Flex points, because if I use them, even though they're on the plan, I don't give myself the 2 points for this challenge...so that means I eat less and I lose more weight (seems to have worked the last 2 months anyway)! I'm ready for another month!!

  • It's sad, but today is only the 2nd day of the month and I've already had a "this one day won't make a difference" moment.

    But then I remembered...my goal this month is to earn 120 points for November. So I said and here I am!!!

    Calories - 1500 per day maximum
    Exercise - A minimum of 30 minutes a day, with at least 3 days at 1 hour +.
    Water - 64 oz per day minimum.

  • I'll give this a try...some very wise folks on this site suggested that I keep my goals realistic sooo...

    Eating: more veggies and fruit, eat breakfast
    Water: 1 glass before and during meals and before I snack in case I am thirsty vs. hungry
    Exercise: 4X/week at the gym doing what I can manage

    To catch up on my week: no points yet (I was away for work and not very healthy)

  • Hi there! I'd really like to join in. I need some accountability and I'm so frustrated with my weight right now.

    My Plan

    Diet- 1200-1600 calories (I'm still trying to tweak this), eat 5 fruits and veggies a day, whole grains and lean meats with 1 ( and only 1) planned "free" meal a week.

    Exercise- 30 minutes of exercise 6 days a week.

    Water- 100 oz a day.

    So far for me then...

    Day 1 (Nov.1-6) have been HORRIBLE!! Only 1 pt per day b/c I did at least drink water.
