rewards

What do you do to reward yourself for your weightloss?

JasonsLea 09-27-2006 12:55 AM

Give myself a big 'WOOOOOT!' LOL

I think my biggest reward will be how I feel about myself, and being able to go out shopping for clothes, and rather than getting depressed - actually having a great time! Think of the feeling when you walk into a store for the first time and have to buy a smaller size.... That's my motivator! I know rewards work for lots of people - you just have to know what you want and what makes you happy and go after it - when you get there, the rewards will be never ending! :)

I am with Celina on the clothes thing. I have two sisters who are both a normal weight and going shopping with them is SO depressing. Of course I can only go in a couple of stores and actually look for clothes, so when they go in all the "normal" stores I feel like such a fraud wandering around looking! LOL

Clothes will be my reward though...even buying a pair of 18's will be such an accomplishment (hopefully another 10 lbs or so). I can't wait!

I didn't use rewards losing the first half of the weight I wanted to lose but decided this time I will. For each 10 lbs lost from the point at which I kickstarted things back into gear (200 lbs), I get one fresh stem of my favorite flower, stargazer lily, to keep at the office as a boost.

My ultimate goal all along, once 100 lbs are gone, has been a trip to Las Vegas. DH and I have been there once and loved it (and we barely gambled). I esp. loved the spa at the Luxor.............. :cloud9:

Yes, I like jewelry

When I lost my first 50lbs, I rewarded myself with a hot stone pedicure (I've never had a pedicure before that). When I lose my next 50lbs (about 32lbs more to go), I am going to buy myself a new pair of cowboy boots - the Ariat Fatbaby's - that will cost will be roughly equal to the amount of total weight I lost.
When I lose 150lbs, I will spend $150 on clothes and anything else I want.

Sounds wonderful ladies!!!

I've set 4 mini-goals (I split up the 110 pounds I want to lose into quarters). When I hit the first one (247), I just bought myself some books and a new CD I wanted. Nothing major. I'm not sure what I'll do at each of the other ones. I have a nice bottle of wine I bought myself before and I might open it at the next one.

When I run a 5k, my husband said he'd buy me a professional massage. Also, I've suckered him into paying me at the end of all this...haha! I'm a geek, so I'm keeping a spreadsheet and charts and things, and I'm planning to pay myself $5 a pound for what I lose, which will end up being $550. I told him he has to match it, but he has no idea how much it's going to be. I plan to use the money to buy all new clothes next summer/fall!

At 100lbs I am getting a tattoo. That is the only thing I know for sure. But I have a cupboard filled with clothes that are too small from size 10 - 18 so I'll have a lot of exciting rewards in that pile!

beautifulone 09-28-2006 11:10 PM

Clothes will be incredible, amazing, stupendous.
So will being able to be as active as I would like to be!

nelie 09-29-2006 09:18 AM

I do reward myself with clothes because I hate wearing ill-fitting, baggy clothes :) On my 100 lb mark, I went clothes shopping. I expect that I'll keep doing that.

Sandi, Oh my! I'm not one much for jewelry but I say go for it!
