SEPTEMBER Points challenge!!! (This has NOTHING to do with WW)

  • September, just a few months until the Holidays? How are you doing so far this year?? There is still time!! Why not join our challenge to help keep you on the straight and narrow? If you are just beginning, starting over or are doing great - this is the place for you! It's somewhere to check in...some freindly competition. Come join us for our monthly challenge!!

    Since this is a monthly challenge, it will start on the 1st and the day of the month is the day of the challenge. You need to post your points on a daily basis (or whenever you can). Simply reply to this post and then edit that post as you add points. That way you always know where you are and so do I! I will calculate and post the totals, on a weekly basis.

    For those of you who have NO IDEA what I am talking about - here are the details. Sometimes we work our hardest when we are held accountable. So I challenge you to do your very best for the month and we'll see who wins!!

    Here is how it's going to go. Starting TOMORROW, Friday, September 1, 2006. We will try to do the 3 things that work. Food, water & exercise. You decide what your food plan is, how much water you want to drink and how much exercise you want to get every day. Every day you have the opportunity to earn 4 points.

    2 point for sticking with your food plan (no splitting points here, you either stuck to your plan or you didn't)
    1 point for drinking the amount of water you decided on
    1 point for getting some exercise. (If you don't exercise on a given day - you DO NOT get a point for exercise - even if you planned it that way)

    Post here with how many points you've earned for a given day, and I will keep track. We'll see who's did the best for the month.

    This is a very cool way to keep on track, because even if you don't do so great on food, you might still get in your water and exercise to earn the points!

    If you list your "plan of attack" here, please make a point to also post it in the Point Challenge Plans. I delete all the posts after I have tallied so this thread doesn't become unmanageable, but it's nice to be able to go look at what someone's plan is. I have created a new Point Challenge Plans post for 2006 becuase the old one started in 2002 and it was pretty outdated. So please repost your plan (if you want to!)

  • I'm in!! Here's my plan:

    1. Staying at or under my WW points target (which is 30 until I go under 250 pounds, and then it's 28).
    2. Getting at least 30 minutes of exercise each day.
    3. Drinking at least 64 ounces of water each day.

    I'm excited!! This should keep me focused so that I can meet my first mini-goal of 247 way ahead of schedule!

    LOTS of people haven't checked in!! I think this thread gets lost because when we update our totals, it doesn't get bumped up, so if everone could make a habit of bumping this up when you post your points, it might help keep it fresh in everyone's minds!
