  • Hi everybody. I haven't been around 3fc for a long time, I'm wishing I'd stayed connected so that I wouldn't be so much farther up the scale. About 5 years ago my first grandchild was born and I quit a 33 year , pack and a half a day cigarette habit. I began seriously eating out of control and effortlessly put on 50 or so pounds. I need to get some control back. I've been on every stinking diet out there at least twice but I can't seem to stay out of the fridge. My plan this time is to eat more fruits and veggies, drink more water, move around more and use fit day every day. I'm hoping to connect with some folks here at 3fc as well because I need help. Lots of help. I'd love to be able to give some help back if I can.
  • Welcome back. You've taken the first step in the journey by coming here and taking back some control! Congratulations on that! I was away after baby #1 for over a year, I gained ALL my weight back + 25. It just comes to a point when you say enough is enough. You can do it and you don't necessairly have to stay out of your fridge! Just fill it with fruit, veggies and other healthy items! It really helps me to plan out my day, talk about it constantly-- and come here. Good luck, stick around and please keep us posted!

    WELCOME!
  • Thanks for the welcome, Gretchen. I think I need to tweak my plan a bit but as usual, I'm flying by the seat of my very generous sized pants.
  • nora, welcome back and Congratulations on breaking the cigarette habit. I used to teach Stamp OUt Smoking classes at the hospital I worked at. One thing we taught is that a pack of day cigarette habit is as unhealthy or more so than being 100 lbs. overweight. Just as hard on the heart , lungs and other organs. So great job on that. Wishing you the best of luck on your new and improved lifestyle. It sounds like you have a plan in mind, so good luck.
  • Girlfriend, back. We HAVE to do this, Nora. I must confess that I just had a cheeseburger and fries from the chipwagon at the corner and am feeling very guilty! I'm using Fitday but sometimes it lies for me. How pathetic is that?
  • We can do this!

    Miss Chris
  • Welcome back! I think we call can identify with getting off track, but the most important thing is jumping right back on... you're here. Congrats on the grandchild and on quitting smoking too! Good luck.
  • Welcome Nora!!
  • I love fitday. I know it helps me make better choices. It's great to have you here!
  • Lilybelle, I just saw your before and after pics, you look amazing!! Is your life a whole lot different now or do you still feel the same inside? Awesome, truly awesome....

Roofie, when I saw those pics from Indiana I knew that the time for wishing was over and the time for action is now. I had my first 1700 calorie day yesterday in many, many moons. Jeffie and I went to the show and I didn't even buy popcorn. This is it, I'm determined.

Thanks for the warm welcome, Miss Chris and Laurie and Beautiful one. It's so good to be on the right path again after such a long time of swinging out there on the wind.
  • back! This is a great place for support and encouragement!
  • Glad you're here!
  • It's great to have you, Nora
