Default Week 112 and taking a longer view...

I was updating my spreadsheet today and thought this was interesting on how weight loss goes in cycles and how having too narrow of a focus can be discouraging. Here are some of the stats I track:

2.3 - 4 Week Avg.
0.4 - 6 Week Avg.
0.9 - 8 Week Avg.
1.2 - 12 Week Avg.
1.3 - 26 Week Avg
2.7 - Overall
2.5 - Exclude First 2 weeks

As you can see, the last 4 weeks have been good. However, I was having a struggle in the prior 4 weeks as you can see my by 6 week and 8 week avgerage. If I just looked at 1 week or even a not so good 4 week period, it would be hard to keep sight of the fact that over the last 12 weeks, I have hit 1.2 pounds lost per week. Over the last 6 months 1.3. Just thought it might help someone else that is having a hard time to reframe how they define "working" and success.

I wish everyone the very best!

Charles..

thanks for putting that down for us. It helps to show, as well, that not every week is going to be perfect. Looking back it all looks good.

Thanks so much for sharing,

Dana

That is a great way to look at it, I've had to look at my weight loss that way too in order to keep at it as i've had weeks where I felt like I did great and I lost barely anything, but eventually it usually seems to catch up and even out to a reasonable weight loss.
