My doctor told me to begin at 2200 for two weeks and then drop 100 calories for another two weeks and so on until I reached 1800. When I reached 1800 she wanted me to stay there until I stopped losing and then drop 100 again stay until stop losing and stay on this path until I reached 1500. She didn't want me to go below that.
Now if I could just follow her advice. LOL. It's rough figuring all this out. You have to eat what is right for you.
Good luck,
Cathy

hello again!

If you all don't mind me asking what other calorie counter sites are there out there in the world? I decided I am going to try to do between 2000-2500 until I get my eating organized to where I get more bang for my buck. Thanks for the ongoing advice guys! I managed to eat about 2300 today and walked on my treadmill for about 45 minutes. Talk to you later!

Danica --

sounds like you're making some good decisions! As for good sources of protein:
- lean meats like chicken
- fish
- peanut butter and nuts (sm quantities, but we need fat too!)
- some dairy, like yogurt and cottage cheese and, well, cheese.
- lots of beans! (and fiber too!)

I agree with what others are saying that you can get more bang for your buck, but also at your starting weight, you probably can lose at 2000/day (Michelle might be able to eat a little more too).

For me, I want to eat a way now that I can for life and I am learning just so much about how to eat foods I love! It is getting easier and easier to do this, and I am usually not hungry!

Another online calorie tracker that I use is www.myfooddiary.com, and it is $9 a month, but it's very good, and there is also message boards there.

Wyllenn ~ You noted that you thought I could be eating more calories? How many more should I be eating to keep losing 2 pounds per week? I get so confused at times as to which is correct...:dizzy:
