I was thinking today about my view of weight loss and I realised that I see it as like a war - not against my body or anything - let me explain.
In the First World War people were sent over the top out of their trenches and they had to walk or run across no mans land. Many didn't make it across. The basic rule was 'keep going - no matter what happens just keep going' That's how I feel about this diet. If I over eat one day - just get back on track and keep going. If I miss the gym one day - back on track and keep going.
I have no idea what's on the other side of no mans land - maybe there is no other side but I'm starting to enjoy the journey very much. Its showing me what I can achieve and I feel stronger for it.
I just thought I'd share it because it sums up one of the most important lessons I've learnt - just keep going!

It reminds me of one of my favorite sayings:
"Just keep swimming; swimming, swimming, swimming." It's true.
