Thanks for the advice from my end too! Portion sizes and self control are major issues for me. I can be "good" easily when there are co-workers or family around. But I'm alone at home from 2pm until 3pm when the kids get home and I can do some major damage in that time! I'm trying very hard to be accountable to myself this time so that I don't fall into the 2pm snacker time.

These are all excellent ideas. I definitely need to slow down when I eat, and I think maybe thinking about chewing 48 times and drinking water in between will help. My boyfriend seems to have more control. I see him set down his fork sometimes and sit a while before eating another portion or rinsing off his dish for the night. I think I definitely need some of these "tricks" to help me control myself when I'm eating things I really love (like pasta). I don't want to give up the things I love because life shouldn't be about depriving yourself, but I need a little more moderation.

This is my biggest problem..

Around certain foods I have no self control. So I try and not to buy them. Afew are chips, ice cream and cookies. I also have switched to healthier versions of these foods. For chips I buy baked and for Ice cream I buy low fat yogurt. It is hard with kids around, but not having them around is better for me. I am feeling full more often than not, and do notice that eating after 6 pm is a problem for me , I get hungry after dinner and munch on something( last night it was a cashew butter sandwich) :( . It is hard for me this is always going to be a problem, but I need to learn how to deal with it even if it takes 10 yrs, because being so heavy is just not healthy for me. Cheryl

Girl, I hear ya! When I am alone, bad things happen food wise. So...I'm trying not to be alone! or if I have to be alone, be somewhere away from food.
