Andie, I could have written your intro! I SO relate! This place has helped with the accountability I needed (need ;) ) to lose weight! I post daily and find lots of support and wisdom (and a fair bit of humor!). If you are looking for a buddy, I'm available! :)

Welcome Andie

Welcome Andie. :welcome2: It sounds like you have a plan to lose the weight and know where you went wrong in the past. You've definitely come to the right place for motivation and support.

Hi Andie,

It was nice to hear your story. I especially love to hear how reaching your goal weight wasn't everything you expected. We keep these things in mind, I think it will prepare us for success.

I assume party of six is in reference to a large family?

kykaree 12-07-2005 11:54 AM

Hi Andie, glad you found us.

lessofsarahtolove 12-07-2005 12:00 PM

Hello, again, Andie!

I'm so glad you posted an intro -- as you can see, everyone's really sweet about raising a hand to welcome you to the fold. While I'm sorry to hear that retraveling a familiar road, I do look forward to hearing more from you about your experiences with the journey. Given your experience, you might find some valuable information and shared frame of reference over at the Maintainers Forum, where there's a lot of discussion of living in maintenance -- feel free to contribute there, it's not just for those who've reached goal, but is open to everyone who feels like piping up!

It's nice to have you here. And I hear that Starbucks has a pretty passable fat free caramel syrup! ;) :coffee2:

Welcome Andie and happy birthday!

Hi Andie

I don't post much over here in the 100lb club section (though I obviously lurk! ;) ) but I wanted to chime in and welcome you too. I lost the weight more than once so I know what it feels like to gain back everything you lost plus some extra for good measure. This time around I feel more confident about maintenance. I really understand that my eating habits have to be for life.

I second Sarah's recommendation to check out the maintainers forum. Lots of people there are no strangers to relapsing.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday, Welcome, and Best of Luck to you from a fellow former loser! You can do it again & for good.

PS: Jen, I like the new avatar!

Welcome Andie, as you can see there are a lot of us working on getting weight off that we had lost before, myself included. I'm glad you could join us. This is a great group of people that I am proud to belong to. I have had a couple people tell me over thanksgiving that I am almost looking to skinny that just cracks me up. I take it as a compliment though. No matter how they meant it I turn it into a good feeling for me. It makes me proud that I could have someone say that. I know Beverley(Boiaby here at 3FC) has had a lot of that kind of talk from her family. It just comes with the territory i guess. People maybe get jealous, not really sure. When you get to that point again as I know you will take it as a compliment and go on.

A belated welcome from me, Andie, and a belated Happy Birthday!

I'm a Starbucksaholic, myself, and have far too many for my own good. I've managed to wean myself down to a couple of FF cappuccinos or lattes a week, so I can still work them into my plan. :s: If you like the sweet drinks, their sugar-free syrups and fat-free milk can save you a bunch of kcals.

I started off at 1600 kcals a day, and dropped a pretty consistent 2 pounds a week. I've been out of the groove for the past couple of months though, so I'm hoping to kickstart things with an average of 1,400 a day for the next 3 weeks.

howie6267 12-08-2005 02:18 AM

I'm a big Caribou Coffee fan. However I guess I'm lucky because I like just the regular coffees. I'm not much for the sweat drinks. All though they do have one called and Oreo Condition that I really do like but I've been going there for over a year and have only had one twice. So not to bad. I just love the atmosphere at the coffee houses. Where we go it's like Cheers and everybody knows are name. There's all the regulars and the help is just so friendly. I would live there if I could afford it.
