New here. Hi all!

Hi all! Just thought I'd introduce myself properly since I've been lurking around for days. Let's see. I'm 5'10 (nurse at doc's office said 6'0", I say no way), weighed 283 at the doc's. :?: how'd that happen? I'm working on losing about 110 lbs. I'm very determined (I've done it before, I just want to keep it off this time!) I'm 21 (I know, I know). I welcome all suggestions and support. And I can tell this is a good place to find it! I know I'm off to a good start (2 weeks in now) but I don't have a scale at the moment. Anyway, nice to meet you!

Hi Shannon - welcome to the 100lb club!

Congrats on a good start to your diet - not having the scales around is probably a good thing as they are  ! Can you tell I am not happy with my scales at the moment?

Good luck!

Love Amanda x

I'm also 21 and 5'10". I'm trying to get down to 145 lbs. (I actually have a tiny frame under all this weight.) Would you be interested in being buddies? I am very committed, and I'm sure I can be extremely supportive.

ScarlettDrawl 10-09-2005 12:25 PM

Thanks everyone for responding! I didn't expect such positive support.

Winter Wonder: I literally just posted to your thread asking you if you want to be buddies! I'd love to! I need all the help that I can get.

Welcome to the forum Shannon! I agree with Howie - you're probably better off without the scales! The important things are that you do your best to eat right, drink your water, exercise, and of course that you come back here often.

Good luck!

Hi Shannon! Welcome to the group! I also agree with Howie... no scale is probably a good thing. On the other hand, I know that I want to chart once a month at least so when I look back I can be like WOOHOO and see the weight as it came off. It's nice to see so many new people in the group!
