Been gone for a year, gained 40 lbs... But I'm back on track and starting today. Joined WW this morning. Had to face my scary weight.. but all things considered..
What's happened in the last year:
1. Fall 2004 Very Very Very sick. Lost a job over it. Jan 2005 Started working for my best friend who's a lawyer.
2. March 2005 Got sicker. Ended up in Hospital. Finally diagnosed with an immune deficiency in April, started on IV treatments every 3 weeks.
3. June 2005 - tore meniscus in knee, 6 weeks in post surgical ankle to hip brace (no surgery)
4. July 2005 - 3 days after getting out of knee brace, broke other foot, 6 weeks in cast / walking boot
5. August 2005 Got sicker, no hospital this time, just IV antibiotics for 3 weeks, couldn't get veins anymore so had surgery to put an implanted port in for easier access to my veins. Best thing I ever did.
6. August 2005 Got diagnosed as bipolar, put on Seroquel. Positive: I'm much easier to live with. Negative: Gained 30 lbs.
7. September 2005 FINALLY was diagnosed with PCOS, put on Glucophage.
8. September 2005 Diagnosed with Binge Eating Disorder - started on therapy, increased Prozac.
That pretty much brings me to today. I'm going to do this!! I'm glad to see so many familiar faces. We can all do this together!!
Hi Beth Anne, welcome back!! Wow, what a year! Good for you for coming back here, even in the face of so many obstacles, now that's impressive! Please jump right back in and make yourself at home, good to have you back!
Beth Anne, sounds like quite a year! My sister is bipolar but they can't seem to quite get her meds regulated. I'm glad you've found something to help. The weight gain is frustrating, but you're on the right track! Can't wait to hear more about your journey.
Welcome back Beth Anne - sorry to hear you've had such a rough year. Hopefully things will improve from now on and you can take control of your weight again. Joining WW and having therapy for the binge eating are all positive steps to a new you!
