Red face Joining the journey

I would like to join this group and join the journey of weight loss with you all. I too have more than 100 pounds to lose. My highest has been 307, but I'm currently at 269 which is up 30 pounds since I stopped nursing. I'm angry at myself that I am throwing away a 50 pound weight loss after giving birth because I don't have a plan and my head is in the sand..... I covet your support and help as I begin anew. Being together is better than being alone. I've tried it alone and I can't do it. I need "togetherness" for success. Can I join?

Hi and welcome. I did the same thing as you only I didn't get it and went from 272 to like 317 in just over 4 months.

Welcome. What I did when I first started out was to just journal my food so I could see exactly how much I was eating. Then I started walking in the evenings with the kids in the stroller or wagon. I made small changes here and there--switched to diet pop, cut out cooking with butter/margarine/oil/ stuff like that.

Hi Lynne,
Welcome to the group!
You will love it here.

For the first time in my life I feel like I'm going to make it And it is because of the support of the wonderful group. There's nothing like a big group of people who TRULY understand what you are going through, and who are succeeding in this great challenge!

I used to go to TOPS when I was about 11-20 years old and it was so ineffective (in my tiny town) because basically it was the only social outing for the older ladies who attended...they'd have their meeting and weigh-in....a little chit chat, and then dinner...it was much more a social club than a weight loss group. And nobody budged much...most just stayed within a 20 pound cycle and it was just not for me.

Here, we mean it...and we're doing it...and I love it

Welcome! Make yourself at home

Linda

Hey there! I don't want to thread-jack, but did wish to post a quick hi how ya doing you'll be seeing me a lot around here from now on.

I think I posted my bio way back in the winter, then I kinda lurked for a long time. Now I'm back (and with a vengeance, even!) and ready to tackle this thing.

The quick and dirty: I'll be 38 on Thursday. I live in the Bay Area with my wonderful boyfriend. I've been Fat, I've been Less Fat, I've been Not Fat At All, and I've been Even Fatter. I fall into that last category right about now.

Basically I've had enough, and it's time, and that's all there is to the story. I'm fun and supportive and play well with others. Music is my obsession, I'm a pop culture junkie, and I like to laugh. A lot. Mostly at myself.

Looking forward to getting to know you all!
