Going to brag a bit

I had to take Lilly to the doc on Friday (she had the beginning stages of pneumonia). She is doing loads better with the new antibiotic and we'll follow up with her ped later this week.

Anyway, my parents went with me to help with the kids and they love eating at golden corral. I just made up my mind going in that I would eat one kind of meat, not eat the bread and have lots and lots of veggies. For some reason I always turn to the right and sit in that section. You have to pass by all the desserts to get to the "good side." I ate lots of greens and such, didn't have one cheesy item, and avoided eating any dessert. I even fed William a small bowl of ice cream without taking a bite. I wish I could have that willpower all the time. :) I ended up with less calories for the day than even the "planned" dinner.

Awesome job!! Send some of that iron willpower my way, would ya? :D

Good for you! I think that deserves a :cb:

When I have those moments (and this week has been a little more indulgent for me, so I've been upping the exercise) I feel like all the good habits are finally making an impact and I love it. :)

Thats great Dawyal :) It's hard to resist those buffet places, everything is right there. I remember when I was 15 we stopped at "Granny's Buffet" in Spokane, that was my first experience of a buffet... by the time we got home from that, I was SICK, and threw up for 3 days. That'll keep anyone away from a buffet! Keep up tha great work, I see you are almost at your 1 year goal :)

That's great, Dawnyal! Howie and I went to a Chinese buffet after church yesterday and did really well, too. He got mostly veggies with just a tiny bit of chicken in it, plus had a salad. I had 1/2 cup white rice, some mostly-veggie stir-fry samplings, lots of crab legs (yummy sweetness!), steamed shrimp, and a little piece of steamed salmon. We were satisfied from having the great variety of tastes, and we didn't leave feeling stuffed. That was a big non-scale victory.

Yay for us all!
