OT-Fibroid Tumors-GRRRRRR

  • I've had these for a number of years now and though they aren't life threatening they are certinly annoying.I've acually been hopping I'd start menopause so that the production of less estrogen would shrink the tumors. I'm 50 yrs old ,you'd think I'd of hit it by now, right?Noooooo. The tumors are worse then ever, lots of bleeding, spotting, and other symtoms making life uncomfortable at times. I read up and discovered there are drugs you can take to decrease estrogen . It used to be treated by surgery, remove everything, which is why I've put up with them so long.Who wants to do that if it isn't absolutly nessasary, right?Well, today I'm seeing my doctor about getting some of those drugs. One drug called Evista is used for osteoperosis(my spelling sucks) but also reduces FBs 22 0/0. I'll let you know what happons.
  • Pam, Years ago my mother had fibroid tumors. That was about 25 years ago and then they just gave you a hysterectomy and called it done. It's amazing how medicine has improved since then. I hope that your doctor can help you out and give you some relief because that does not sound pleasant at all.
  • Thank you Tammy. I'm going to get an ultrasound . Don't know when yet. Other then this Doc said I was in great shape.
