My first major NSV - I made it through the ENTIRE DAY yesterday without eating ONE PIECE OF CHOCLATE/HALLOWEEN CANDY.

I am very proud!

Oh, my God, Sarah. Those are the best NSVs of all!!!! Even though one reads all the time about the health risks of overweight/obesity, it's a completely different matter when you see them yourself! I'm sure both you and your doc are absolutely thrilled!!!! I'm concerned about that other stuff; I hope it turns out to be nothing.

I'd be happy if my cholesterol went down like yours, BUT I took a resting heart rate yesterday, and it was 63!!!! It used to be 75-80!

Yay us!!!

BA99TJ - congrats on resisting the Halloween candy!

Re: photos. Every time I look at old (horrible) ones now, I try to think about it this way -- boy, will that make a great "before" photo!!!!

I realized my "cake post" on the October challenge thread was actually an NSV--cool!

So, I made a German Chocolate cake for my son's birthday and bought his favorite ice cream (Tillamook Chocolate Peanut Butter) and told myself that I could have some on Saturday only. Of course, we didn't eat the whole cake or all the ice cream on Saturday night so the cake was sitting there on my counter all day long. I had an incredibly stressful day because my Dad's dementia was in full swing, and he was being really awful. I wanted that cake SO BAD! But I didn't even take a fingerful of frosting, even when I was cutting a piece for my Dad. I'm so proud of myself! :D

Sheila! That's a great NSV! :D Good for you!

This isn't really a victory but....

Today I am wearing a belt. I haven't worn a belt in umm I have no idea how many years. Also, I have reached the point that I can walk into a store that carries "larger sizes" and not worry about whether the pants would fit me which means I no longer have to rely on Avenue or Lane Bryant for my pants. This weekend, I went clothing shopping and bought size 24 pants at various stores: Foley's (Robinson's May for you west coasters), Dillard's (size 22 here!!), Lane Bryant, and Lord & Taylor.

Anyway, that is my NSV, I am starting to feel somewhat normal which I have never really felt.

These are great! Nelie, I'm really happy for you....you've earned that and then some. :)
