Kristen,

I am new to this board also. For about a month, I have been miserable...knowing my weight was out of control. I felt extra full around the middle and my weight was starting to zap my energy. I finally have the resolve to do something about it.

For me, I am focusing on exercise and adding any bit of activity I can to my day. I am not going to beat myself up on food choices just yet, but I know (as we all do) what is a poor choice. I think by starting moving, the natural consequences will be to find balance in my eating. But make the commitment once to exercise...and don't let yourself be talked into not making that commitment. Think of it as brushing your teeth or taking a shower...you just do it naturally.

Wow, what wonderful ideas and help from you all.

Just a little update frrom the doctors visit.

He did a sugar check witht the needle prick. Mine was 102

He did a cholesterol check. Mine was 202. So he ordered the big one, plus liver function. Had that done yesterday.

He weighed me and I weighed 365 so I am already down 33 pounds from January :) (down from 398)

AND he did my blood pressure in both arms 115 over 79 in the right, and 118 over 80 in the left. Pulse rate was 82, he said exercise would bring it down.

He was VERY happy about the blood pressue and gave me the go ahead to exercise more. suggested 30 minutes 3 times a week and work up from there.

He also suggested for me to follow a well balanced diet and not just to cut down. Less fat, less sugar, and less eating out.

Well thats all for now. Now I need to go exercise :D
