Some more useful info....From Denise

  • When you slip up, do you start telling yourself that you may as well give up and go back to your old ways? Don't do it! The "all or nothing" mentality is one of the most common (and unnecessary) reasons people give up on making healthy changes. Remember that fitness is a lifelong journey. You may stumble occasionally along the way, but that doesn't mean you've failed—it just means you're human! The best course of action is to get right back on track. Don't waste time feeling bad about a little lapse. Focus on the future and your power to change it! You can do it! I believe in you

    ....me too!
  • Can I add something? I was reading a fitness magazine at the gym last night and it had a really good article on how the whole "net carbs vs. total carbs" thing is a total scam. A carb is a carb is a carb. They all have calories.

It had a link to http://www.drgregoryellis.com. He has written a few books on the subject. The website's pretty dry reading, though.
  • Gina - I totally agree with that statement 100% and thats why I know that this time, I'm going to be successful at losing the weight.. In the past, whenever I slipped and had a treat, i'd have the all or nothing mentality (well i've already cheated so we'll restart tomorrow) - Now I conciously think about all the meals/snacks I'm having and if i'm treating myself... its only that (A TREAT) which doesn't mean giving up on everything else..

Afterall, I'm wanting to be healthy and everything is fine in moderation.. Its not normal to only eat healthy or vice versa, to only eat junk.

    Just my 2 cents...
