Valentine's Day Challenge

Hey, since I can't remember what I said I'd do for this Challenge, I can change my goal and no-one will know!

For those of you who are new, we set some long-term goals that we try to meet. The goals don't have to be a number on a scale, but can be anything from getting into a new size to drinking 8 glasses of water every day between now and Valentine's Day to cleaning your closets to whatever you choose!

My goal is to have a 4 point February. I also would like to lose some darn weight since I noticed I've only lost a pound since November 17. But I'm going to keep the amount open this time.

So, what are you challenging yourself to do by Valentine's Day?

Right on!

This is exactly what I was thinking about on my way back to work from WW after Christmas weigh-in (YIKES! Up 5 in 2 weeks)

I would like to receive my 75 pound reward by Valentine's Day. This means that I need to loose 9 pounds by Valentine's, which might be a bit too high for the rate I am loosing now....but it is something ambitious to strive for!! :spin:

I would like to be solidly in the "regular" size clothing. Right now i am teetering between plus size and regular size and i would like to be able to say i am in a regular XL.

Up to the Challenge

My challenge to myself is to be down at least 8 lbs by Valentine's day. (I'm trying to stay in that 1 -2 lb/week healthy weight loss place, but heh, a girl can hope that the 8 - 10 lb weight gain over Christmas will result in a huge water weight drop now that the celebrations are over!)

I weigh-in on Sunday, so I'll let you know. I will probably have figured out how to put my weight in at the bottom of my messages by that time too. Be patient with me, photocopying is a challenge!

Off to the elliptical!

Well ... my goals are VERY modest ... ... I want to bring my lunch to work every day so I don't make bad choices just because they are quick and easy (Now that I have to handle both school "drop off" and "pick up" I have a reduced lunch break.) AND ... to avoid nigth-time snacking.

My husband just started working out of state this week, leaving me a part-time single mom w/ young kids who cry "I miss Daddy" every night and who tell me "Dad would let me do that" if I tell them no. This contract position could last 4 - 6 months.

We went through this for a couple of months early last year, and it lead to major stress eating on my part ... and I never got back on track. Miraculously when I returned to this site in late December, I was shocked to know my starting weight this year was the SAME as last January ... I thought it would be worse!!!

It shouldn't be TOO difficult to meet my goals. I'm making an effort to get all my "kitchen work" done before retiring to my 2nd floor family room (where my TV, computer and laundry room are located) with a bottle of water and a glass!!! Last year, I'd put my kids to sleep (on the third floor) and they wouldn't want me to leave the 2nd floor to go back downstairs to make lunches, etc. SO ... I'd watch TV and end up falling asleep, then at about 11pm, I'd go downstairs to finish cleaning up, and make lunches and return upstairs w/ snacks to eat while watching late-night TV (cuz I wasn't tired, I'd just woken up from a nap -- lol!)

This time WILL be different!!! If you've made it this far, thanks for reading my ramblings!

I said I wanted to be in my size 20 jeans or @ 280# by V-Day. I also said I'd try for a 4-point February.

I didn't post to the original thread, but I want to get back to my lowest weight from *this* WL journey -- I weighed 210 on 10/23 and have been yo-yoing up and down the scales since. I've never seen 210 again though :( So, that's what I'm aiming for.

missaprylj 01-08-2004 06:29 PM

To work out 5 days a week for 30 minutes from now until Valentine's Day.... and

To weigh 215 on 215 which happens to be my Sweet 16!

I'm in!

i want to be down in the 240's by V-Day. the lowest 240 i can reach. i am also wanting to be drinking at least half of my water jug per day and using my video at least 5 times a week.

gonzostar 01-09-2004 10:40 AM

my goal is 170 by v-day. that's 10 lbs... a steep goal for me.

Sheila53 01-13-2004 08:24 PM

Moving this up for Si so he knows what others are planning. :) Also, if anyone else wants to join in, you can challenge yourself to anything--doesn't have to be a scale weight.

sakk 01-13-2004 11:24 PM

My goal for V-Day is 6# gone! That will be approx. 1.5/week. My dh will be flying to Alaska in Feb. for the Yukon Quest (1,000 mile dogsled race that his brother competes in). If I meet the goal, I will have to think of a little treat for ME! :)

Raelynn 01-13-2004 11:32 PM

I am avoiding the scale for the next few months, because I have noticed bad patterns in my behavior when I weigh myself (ie. I am on the scale 10x a day and obsess very unhealthily). I want to lose a pant size by Valentine's Day. I want to exercise 5x per week and have at least 5 - 4 pt days per week (2x3pt days, for no exercise days).

Charbar 01-14-2004 07:45 AM

I would like to lose my first 10 lbs by valentines day!
