Body Flex Plus
Saw the infomercial Sunday morning for this and was thinking it might be a nice little resistance training tool for those times when you get home from work and can't bear the thought of doing anything really intense (I do my cardio before going to work).
Anyone tried it? If so, what the heck is the aerobic breathing all about? The bar thing looks pretty interesting and I like the way it covers all the spots I'm interested in working on and you can increase the tension as you progress. I particularly like the thought of doing it while relaxing in front of the TV. The woman who hawks it is a bit scary though. I mean she has a great body for someone in her late 50s, but it's the long silver hair, big ears and something strange about her face - she reminds me of an albino chimpanzee.... Anyway, if anyone can share actual experience with this product I'd appreciate it. Thanks. :) |
I have the body flex. I can't say I ever gave it enough of a chance to say if it works or not.
The breathing thing is that most people take shallow breaths and she teaches you to take deep breaths. I can remember what it's supposed to do for you. |
Body Flex Plus
Hiya...
I just happened along your post and I wanted to respond to it. I have the Body Flex plus system and LOVE it. I did it for the first week and did lose 14 inches total. The second week I went to start it VERY pleased with my progress but unfortunately I got quite ill and missed a week and a half and was even MORE miserable because I got addicted to that darn endorphine rush from working out. I'm getting back on the wagon tomorrow and I also want you to know I bike three times a week too. Long story short, LOVE the body flex plan and can't wait to pick it back up... Best of luck and keep in touch *hugs* Denise |
Thanks Denise, that sounds very encouraging. Now I just have to wait for the darn infomercial to come on again because I didn't take down the number to call. The price is certainly right and the system doesn't look too painful, so I'm going for it! Thanks again and best of luck to you too Denise :)

Hiya Jill...
Glad I could be of help :) I *REALLY* like the program and it *does* work but you have to be sure to do it 20 mins daily and then the second week she wants you to do your 20 min AM routine and then an evening workout (for that I just do the breathing and positions with it, not the gymbar). I would love to keep in contact with ya if you don't mind. Good luck and kick some tush! *hugs* Denise Ohhh... www.bodyflex.com if you want to check there for the 800 number or order online ;) Byeeees |
Thanks again Denise - I went to the website and ordered online. Looks like a great value for the buck, even with the US/Can exchange and shipping/handling. Should be here between 3-6 weeks - the sooner the better!
Now I'll have something else to obsess over. I've told how I'm totally addicted to my scales (there's no way I could partake in that whole month without looking at the scale challenge some of you brave souls are doing). Now I'll be measuring myself 2-3 times a day! What is it they say about people with obsessive personalities? Something about them being prone to obesity? DUH!! Anyway, while I'm waiting for my package to arrive you'll have to let us know how you're doing Denise (inches per week please). Go ahead, pick up that bar and start breathing! :) |
Along the lines of "you have to laugh or you'll cry"...
My Body Flex Plus package arrived recently and I diligently took all my measurements and started the program. There's two videos, the first consisting of breathing exercises (I burst out laughing a couple of times watching this one... some of the breathing techniques seem vaguely pornographic). The next video was the workout with the gymbar. So there I am working away on my breathing and resistence exercises with my gymbar and feeling pretty good about the whole thing and THEN while driving to work yesterday I hear on the news that the makers of Body Flex Plus have been charged with false advertising in that independant studies show the promised results of incredible inch loss (7 to 14 inches per week) are greatly exaggerated!! BUT I'm going to continue with it and see for myself on Sunday (after a full week) as to whether there's any difference. I definitely think the gymbar exercises work because I can feel the tension during them and I do feel a bit sore the next day. Oh well, even if it doesn't live up to its promises and I only lose 3 to 4 inches a week instead of up to 14, I'll be okay with it - it's better than nothing and heck, I'll take 4 inches anytime (except when it comes to men!) :D |
 you're funny. but hey... if the charge passes, will you be able to return it? and what was the price, if you don't mind me asking?
