Martine: Sorry to hear your injury is still bothering you, I hope it feels better soon (but I'm also glad you and David were able to get out and enjoy some beautiful weather ).

Michelle: to this thread! Days off from work/not-so-structured days are where I struggle as well. You've come to the right place for some support and accountability. Best of luck to you!

Hi Running red head. love love your name
what is the format to use on this thread? Im on a phone. And it's hard to navigate... much less see.
Is all that information in your signature? In class last night wr talked about goals and strategies to navigate thru Easter/ passover. Dinner and get togethers. Being prepared, etc. Letting your family know you need there support

And knowing that the food pushers are just showing love with food. good idea on the dancing veggies to mark you're weightloss. CLEVER

Michelle: I don't think there is a specific format to use, whatever floats your boat. I post infrequently because I prefer to do so on a desktop for that very reason! All of the info listed after my weigh-ins is part of my signature. As you mentioned, it's so important to keep in mind that food is how our families show love and it's just a way humans like to connect. Sometimes I find it difficult to keep this in mind!

Redhead: I've been making progress and everyday I keep looking in the mirror is today the day that my weightloss will show? I don't care how I look in my uniform, there not flattering on anyone.
I'm down one pant size, my nurse practioner who is watching my health, says it's about when you lose 30-40 is when people notice.
Feeling snacky today.I think in anticipation of the Easter dinner, not the day itself. As I know I'll around food hopefully knowing Mondays are weigh in will keep me in cheeck.
later

Michelle: I think one of the best motivators for me when I first started losing was the NSV's (like you mentioned, dropping a size is such great positive reinforcement). The other thing that helped me tremendously was making sure I took my measurements and progress photos in the same outfit consistently every month. I think I was about 25 lbs down when coworkers started noticing I was losing. Hang in there!

Well, it's been another incredibly month for me. Good to see folks are still checking in. And yes, , Michelle! So nice to have new neighbors join us in the neighborhood. And like Running stated, all my information is in my signature as well.

I ended March with a teeth cleaning that showed I had a pretty significant cavity in one of my three remaining wisdom teeth. Thankfully, it doesn't hurt and I'm in no pain but it did result in a discussion with my new dentist about having them removed. At first we discussed just having the the one with the cavity extracted and then I asked, "can I just get them all removed", and she was thrilled about that. Honestly, my wisdom teeth have given me no problems; two are completely in and one is in partially. Every often it erupts a bit and I feel like a teething. So, I'm having them out the Friday before Memorial Day to take advantage of the long holiday. One more tooth related ditty--the week after my cleaning I was sucking on caramel apple sucker and one of my students poked his head into my office and startled me. I bit down and pulled off the crown from one of my bottom teeth. At first I couldn't find it and then realized it was stuck in the sucker. I had to take it to the ladies' room and melt the sucker down under hot water until it was released

As far as weight goes, well, it doesn't. I've neither lost nor gained and I continue to rack up miles of walking. Sadly, work tends to be the first thing I think about in the morning and the last thing at night. Only rarely am I thinking about what goes in my body. At the same time, the weather is warming up and I realize I have no real spring/summer/lighter clothes to wear for the season so shopping at least for a few things is a must. I do feel like I'm hitting a crossroads in terms of how I manage my work because I don't like functioning this way and I feel like I'm cheating myself out some great non-work related experiences.

To all who celebrate, Happy Easter and Passover. And for all others, a happy and relaxing weekend!

Michele no matter if you see major changes when looking in the mirror, dropping a pant size is always a great validation that you are on the right track. Taking progress pictures like RunningRedHead is doing is a great way to see yourself from another point of view and see the real changes happening. Because we tend to be very hard on ourselves when looking in the mirror and not being able to recognize how far we've come.

RunningRedHead I am impressed at how close you are to the 210s now! Where are you now in your C25K training?

Curvynotlumpy so nice to see you check in. You're getting all 4 wisdom teeth taken out at once?! You will surely spend Memorial Day weekend relaxing with strong pain killers then. It's good that you have been maintaining your weight and are keeping up with walking. Is your welness group still holding meetings? I hope you can find the right balance between work and life in the next few weeks so you can really enjoy yourself and get back to fully taking care of yourself.

After non-stop rain yesterday, we had a Summer-like sunny day today. I woke up with the resolve to not let this beautiful day go to waste and to complete all my health goals today. I'm happy to say "mission accomplished". I ate healthy all day long and got in more veggies, I drank 2L of water and I went for 2 walks for a total of 6.35km. The pain in my groin area has now moved to my upper hip flexor (everything is connected) so I'm currently icing it. It's harder to stretch that area but I'll make it work somehow.

Hope everyone has been enjoying a great weekend

Curvy: Oh no! I’ve had a similar experience with a crown and a heated Quest bar Glad to hear your wisdom tooth isn’t giving you too much grief, I’ll keep you in mind when it’s time for them to come out; don’t stress too much, if they aren’t impacted it’s not so bad! Great job maintaining this month! I just realized the same thing about my spring/summer wardrobe (or lack thereof ) Wishing you luck as you figure out the balance between work and having a life that is right for you.

Martine: Thanks! I actually had to take a break from C25K; my hip tendonitis flared up again, but it seems to be involving the flexors more this time around But I managed to keep walking, so I think that is helping a lot! Great job on your intake and your water! Glad to hear you were able to get some walks in and take advantage of the beautiful weather. your pain gets better with icing and stretching!

This week is the week leading up to my friend’s wedding (the one in which I am maid of dishonor), and the stress is starting to hit me, big time as it is also my last week of the semester and my mental to do list is giving me a headache. Gotta remind myself that it’s okay to say no and not be my normal people-pleaser self this week and that I need to take care of myself, too. Wish me luck! Hope everyone is having a great week so far!

RunningRedHead I’m sorry to hear that you too have been dealing with ailments and that you have had to modify your training. It’s good that you are able to walk despite your hip pain. I’m wishing you to get through this week sound of mind and body

I’m happy to report that I was 100% on plan yesterday, including getting those 2L of water in. Yesterday I walked 3.35km and today 3.49km. I had to ice my right knee last night after work. I’ve been walking in a wonky way to protect my left groin area so it was bound to start to hurt elsewhere. Thankfully the knee pain wasn’t as bad this morning and same for my hip flexor.

Wishing everyone a great day ahead!
