Default March Magic-March 2019 Daily Check-in & Accountability Thread

Greetings!

Welcome to the March 2019 thread! For those who are new, Rennie, aka Love2b150 is the originator of this thread and still pops in from time to time when her schedule allows. So whether you are a long time poster, brand new, or a lurker wanting to join the conversation, I want to welcome you to the March Magic 2019 Check-in and Accountability Thread. Here you can post your daily weight, share workouts and way of eating (WOE) plans, struggles and successes, life adventures and anything else. This is a warm and supportive thread so please settle in and make yourself at home.

March ushers in the spring season which is a time for renewal and growth. The days get longer, the weather warmer and everything around us seems to be in bloom. This month let's take advantage of the "magical" moments that occur when winter releases its icy grip. Let's commit to doing away with some of the "heavy" that has been bringing us down including clutter in our homes, the bulky clothes that define the winter months and the extra pounds that stand in the way of being the finest version of YOU! So while winter may still be hanging on where you are living let spring and all its potential take hold of your mind and spirit.

And Rennie, we know that your life is super busy but know that we miss you and look forward to hearing any updates you have.

Curvy: Thank you again for getting this month’s thread up and running, you always do such a wonderful job!

Merilung: Nice to see you again! Hope all went well with your procedure last month. on reaching Twotopia Wow, twin two-year-olds, you must have your hands full!!

Last month went nowhere on the fitness front as I made every excuse in the book. March goals will continue to include 4-5L of water per day, staying OP with diet (20-30g net carbs per day or less and within my calorie range of 1500-1700), and adhering to my strengthening workouts. Best of luck to everyone this month.

RunningRedHead: Thankyou! ^^ The year sure is flying, and I did also lose my footing last month. But what matters most is that we are still here, trying our best!

Martine: Last night I finally slept! though I had been up for over 24h at that point. Hopefully my schedule is back on track and I manage to keep it that way. I did dig up some 'candid' pictures from a few months ago, and to be honest I thik I am more in denial that I was ever that big! Glad to hear you are back on track though! ^^

---

These past few days have been pretty bad. I have been over tired and since my schedule hsa been all crazy, some weigh-ins happen at odd hours and I still don't know what meal goes uner what day. But hey! I slept last night at normal times, so hopefully all that is OVER.

Been at the same weight [207.2 lbs] for 3 days, and honestly part of me is glad. I was a bit uneasy as to how fast some of those lbs came off and was worried to see a regain. I am crossing my fingers to see another lbs or so before the week is out.

Hope everyone is having a good day!

I think this makes four or five days in a row at 225.5 I'm counting myself lucky since I'm heading into shark week and usually gain a bit at this point ( that doesn't happen tomorrow). I finally sucked it up and stopped using winter weather as an excuse for not getting outside and walking Loki; we walked for a little over an hour yesterday, I got all of my water in, and did some back stretches. Monday I will be resuming my strengthening routine and I'm taking the next two days to focus on stretching out my back and hip so I don't hurt myself when I restart (good sore only please ). Have a fantastic weekend everyone!

Hi guys, long time no see. I noticed it's been a year since I posted. I'm not sure you guys even remember me after all that time, but i see names I remember. A lot has changed for me in that time. My work bestie was told to loose pounds. I really could see how she needed to lose that much, but hey. She started going to a weight loss clinic she had gone to before, and she told me I should check it out. It happens to be about miles from my house, so I made a consultation appointment and began the plan they call a modified fast. It's a low carb, low fat diet. I have two protein bars as snacks per day as my controlled carbs. An obesity specialist doctor owns and runs the practice. They give you a complete physical when you start, including and EKG, and they repeat the EKG at three months to make sure your handling the higher protein well. Each week you meet with a dietician and once a month you see the doctor or the PA. I see the PA. I began in the middle of May and have lost 82 pounds. It's made a world of difference to me. I had gotten so heavy and my body was hurting me. I would move and have a muscle spasm in my back. I had to get a seat-belt extender a couple of time I flew. Man was that embarrassing. Lucky for me, my husband would get it for me. So far, I've lost 14 inches on my belly. The PA measures at my belly button every month. The first month, my triglycerides dropped just over 100 points. Since I'm eating my own food, I know this is something I will be able to continue once I reach my goal Before, when I lost weight, I did Jenny Craig, and once I stopped eating out of the box, my weight started going back up. I just wanted to come in and update you on what I've been up to.

Happy month of March everyone I can't wait for Winter to be over and for sidewalks to be clear of ice and snow so I can enjoy nice long walks again.

Thank you so much curvynotlumpy for starting this monthly thread once again. Wishing everyone great success with their monthly goals.

imthegoddess it's nice to see you again and very happy to read about your weight loss and successes so far.

This month has started well, still on plan food-wise and reaching 1L of water each day, though my goal remains to drink 2L daily. I am frankly surprised that I've been so consistent in regards to cooking healthy meals despite David's surgery and having to take everything on by myself. Some days I may feel like I'm running on empty but I just push through it.

DayDreamer: Crazy schedules can be so frustrating. Switching back and forth from overnights to normal days, I totally hear you about weigh-ins and what meals go where. For a while I used to track 24-hours from midnight to midnight, but that wasn’t working, so I now track from when I wake up to when I sleep/wake up again and always weigh right after waking (after peeing, but right when I get up ). you got another lb or so by the end of the week like you’d hoped, well done on your drop so far this month, you’re doing great!

Goddess: Welcome back and thanks for the update! on your success with this new program so far. It’s fantastic that you’re using your own food and tools that you’ve learned from this clinic; that really is the best recipe for success! Awesome job, you should be very proud of yourself

Martine: I was just thinking the exact same thing regarding being ready for spring. It’s much too cold to walk Loki today, it’s been so windy lately… I don’t so much mind the snow though, but we walk on paths that would require boots in winter whether they were cleared or not lol. Glad to hear you’re still OP despite stress. Hope all is well with David’s post-op recovery.

Thank you both for the warm welcome back. Martine, you're doing well especially with all that's going on. Congrats on the healthy meals. Running Redhead, agreed. It's been very cold here and the snow in my front yard won't go away.

My company started a wellness program through a company called sonic boom. Right now we are doing a steps challenge against other companies that use the program. It's fun looking at the stats, my daily steps and the monthly total. It's motivating me to get more steps. Not that I get a ton, but I'm more mindful.

Have a great day everyone. My goal today is to get more water. Oh, and I posted my progress picture in the 100 lb progress photo thread if you're interested.

imthegoddess the wellness plan at your company sounds a bit like what curvynotlumpy is taking part in. I wear my Apple watch when I work and most days I walk more than 10 000 steps, but it's nothing like a nice long walk in the fresh air. I saw your picture in the other thread and the difference is striking. You must be so proud of your achievements so far.

RunningRedHead and everyone else, hope you've been having a great week and will enjoy a great weekend ahead.

This week I hit a wall on Friday. I had not prepared that evening's meal ahead of time and I was exhausted after not recuperating from staying at work until 12:30am on Wednesday while waiting for a security guard because the front door to our store wouldn't lock. So I wound up napping at 4:30pm and when I woke up around 6:30pm, I didn't feel like cooking so I ate a bowl of cereal and some fries from David's take out. So far this month I've lost 1 pound. It's better than nothing but I still don't understand why I lose so little at a time even when I'm eating a lot less and make better food choices than before. Just have to keep going.

Better a 1 pd loss than a one pound gain. I have a desk job, so I don't get nearly that amount of steps. I did get in my water this week. Last night I fell down the four steps to my family room and broke my glasses. I hurt today. It's a really pretty day today. I should go out before I have to do my homework. Everyone have a great day. Keep motivated.

Hey guys! I've been MIA for about a month again, but I am still around. Life has been crazy (isn't it always? lol) -- I gained up to 174, but then got very sick and got back down to 164, and am starting to recover now and am settled in the 166 range at the moment. I have left the overnights schedule as of last night because it just got to be too much with everything, so now I'm buckling down and refocusing on school and family for the next few months. As of right now, my husband got orders overseas (Korea) for this summer, and we should find out in the next couple weeks if he's going alone, if we're going to be going with him, or if we can get them changed. (It's going to be our daughter's senior year of high school this coming fall, so we're trying to get the orders stayed so she can finish out her school here.) Keep your fingers crossed for us that we can get that all settled! As for the normal stuff, my goal this month will be the same goal I have had for the better part of a year with all the ups and downs...to hit the 162 mark of a "normal" BMI. Setting my overall goal for 5 lbs even, which will put me just a smidge below. Maybe this month will be the one where I can finally break through that barrier, lol.
