Many thanks to you, Rennie, for helping us usher fall in with a new thread for October. 🎃👻 Count me in for another month!

sweetgirl121 10-01-2017 02:25 AM

Hi! This is a great post. Count me in as well. I currently struggle so much with the daily water in take. Do you have any tips in order to drink more water and avoid mindless eating?

facingfacts12 10-01-2017 02:45 AM

Thank you Rennie, I'm SO excited to be here. To recap to anyone new, I started last month mid month on the 11th on a journey to a healthier me - at 258, so far I've lost 7lbs. Looking forward to my first full month! I have to say this board really helps. It helps to see people trying. Its inspiring to see those who have done it and see its possible. its awesome to have the company.

sweetgirl, I struggle with water too. Here's my most recent discovery - I flavor it, with True Lime and true Lemon. There's no sweetner, just the citrus flavor and its so easy and works well. i fill a glass with ice, water and add my flavor (you can squeeze real lime or lemon into it too - I use the packets just cause its so much faster and I can take them to work). Then I sip away. The lime drink reminds me of drinking a mojito :D lol I've actually experimented with making a super low carb mojito drink with just adding some mint and truvia. Anyway... I just keep sipping.

Mindless eating? ... There's only one way around it. Start being mindful. I've lived with mindless eating for years. Right now I try to have 5 small meals a day and I try to make them as delicious as I can. I have absolutely loved some of the low carb slow cooker recepies I've tried.

Good luck this new month everyone - lets make October great! I think the important thing is not just how we start and end the month and how many goals we've met... but that we are all still here at the end of the month, ready to check into the next month and the next and next... I've fallen off the bandwagon before many years ago.. and so paranoid about that happening again. I know once you've been at a certain weight... its kind of like fragile glass, your body will always easily get back there if you let it. My goal is to not let myself be unhealthy again. Here's to a healthy month everyone!!!

I so need this, it's been a struggle getting back on track. But I'm determined!

Thank you Rennie for this wonderful thread again :)

love2b150 10-01-2017 02:24 PM

Hi Evereyone

Curvy and Martine  I'm glad to see you're still here and hanging in there with me even though I'm MIA more than here

sweetgirl :wel3fc: and to the thread :) Glad to have you :) My tip for more water is to make the infused water. I actually bought some already made bottles when I went to see my Mom awhile back ... quite tasty :) Ah, mindless eating ... I use to think that if I prepared my meals ahead of time it would be easier (but I get bored and don't want what I made). I also bought frozen meals for dinner so no thought and quick (that didn't work) .... however I will say that I HAVE DONE those things in the past and they did work. I'm just not sure why I can't seem to stick to either now  but give them a shot. Most of what I've done I've learned from people here on 3FC. :) Lots to read for sure.

facingfacts, :congrat: on 7lbs GONE, keep up the good work :high: ... I like this ---> lets make October great! the important thing that we are all still here at the end of the month, ready to check into the next month so true once once you've been at a certain weight ... your body will always easily get back there if you let it.

Hi FattyToSkinny, I need this too ... I hope I can be more active this month.

I gained 2.8lbs in September (going off the few weeks that I weighed myself).

Vladadog 10-01-2017 02:49 PM

Back for real this month... I have been reliably tracking but not weighing every week or always making good choices. Still, my couple months off have not produced a weight gain so that's good.

10/1 - 198 (2 pounds up from when I was nearly always making good choices)

opheliaphoenix 10-01-2017 05:36 PM

Hello, everyone!!!

I'm back after having fallen off the bandwagon for the past few months. I have gained almost 30 lbs since we moved here to Arizona in June and realized that I was getting out of control. I stopped tracking, stopped drinking water, started emotional binging due to real life things (which I usually never do, even when not on track), and just stopped being active altogether. It's been horrible. So, I'm grabbing a hold of the reins again before I do any more damage. I just don't want to completely destroy all the progress I'd made this Spring, where I'd lost 75 lbs -- now I'm back up to just 48 lbs lost overall, but that is still a good chunk I'd like to keep off. So, here's to getting back on track ASAP! :running: Hoping to set my normal goal of 10 lbs down for the month to jumpstart myself back into the grind.

opheliapheonix we'll be right there with you getting back on track

Vladadog welcome back! Wish I too could say that after 2 months of not being 100% on track I would have only gained back 2 pounds. That shows that there were more good choices than bad ones for sure :)

Day 1 done. I ate well, drank 1.3L of water and I just completed 37 minutes of cardio/lower body workout. To be honest I thought I would stop after about 20 minutes but I pushed through the workout. Now to do this on my work days.

Wishing everyone great success this month!

01: 37 minutes cardio/lower body workout

Angie 10-01-2017 07:41 PM

Hello everyone! September went well for me, I had a 9.6 pound loss, I'm aiming a little lower this month because I'm celebrating my birthday and Canadian Thanksgiving...I'll eat on plan, but I won't count calories so much at those times.

Angie what a fantastic result in September! Birthdays and celebrations sure can throw a wrench in the best of plans, but being realistic about it helps.

Forced myself to get up early this morning to exercise, knowing that I wouldn't be home until 6:45pm and wouldn't feel like it after work. Starting the month off right is easy, keeping it going is the challenge. Hope everyone will have a great day!

01: 37 minutes cardio/lower body workout
02: 37 minutes cardio/upper body workout

Martine 10-03-2017 10:00 AM

i work the afternoon/evening shift today, so I walked this morning. Feeling a bit sore from yesterday's workout (a good thing) so I decided to do something a bit less taxing today, to let my muscles recover. Have a great Tuesday everyone!

01: 37 minutes cardio/lower body workout
02: 37 minutes cardio/upper body workout
03: 3.3km walk

facingfacts12 10-03-2017 02:01 PM

Checking in ladies - I'm celebrating that I'm now in my 40s :D lol... Meaning I weighed 249.5 this morning (original weight 258).
At least the pounds are coming off, no matter how slowly. But yes, its insane how QUICKLY they pile back on the moment one slips!! opheliaphoenix, so glad to see you on here taking the reigns, its a great thing that you are grabbing on before you gain anymore. I will be celebrating when I get back to my ORIGINAL starting point in 2012. I had a baby since... but I actually lost weight during the pregnancy. since giving birth I gained 35+lbs!! Just by not noticing how they pile on.
All I can do right now is not let this happen to me again and have a plan of attack of when life sneaks up on me, to combat anything it throws my way and not let it throw me off track.
