I can't believe we are nearly half way through this challenge! The weeks are flying by for me. Aren't you glad we decided to take charge? Otherwise these weeks would have passed by and we would still be at the same weight as before! (Or even heavier, if your like me)

About once a week I really struggle and end up eating something I shouldn't. The first time this happened was only in the second week and I really beat myself up over it for not having stronger resolve. This challenge helped to get me back on track right away, as I knew I would be accountable at my weigh in. So, thanks guys!

Nice loss JenyReddy!! I can not wait until I am in the 160's again, it has been a very long time!

Nearly40: Another incredible loss, way to go!! I totally agree with you, this is going by really fast, and I am glad I am keeping at it. I also do a daily challenge and it keeps me focused! It feels really good to have a treat and not have it blow your whole diet. In the past if I would indulge in something 'off plan' I would get frustrated and quit. It feels much different this time, I could eat this way forever, it doesn't feel like a 'diet'.

Everyone is doing great, keep up the good work!!

Hello all!
A little late posting this week -- we were up at a cabin in Saguenay during the weekend and came in just last night. There's no scale there, but so happy this morning to see that all that playing in the snow paid off and I'm down two pounds! Yeeay! kfunk6113, I so agree that it's just a waste of energy and morale to beat one's self up over minor lapses. We need to be our own best friends, and treat ourselves the way we treat our loved ones. Like jenyreddy said, it's pretty encouraging to be able to cheer on the champions of weight loss in our midst (but no pressure, Ubee, Traveler, Lindifer and nearly 40) and celebrate our slower losses as well. We know we'll get there, right? And it's so much better to do it among people who know what it feels like than going it alone. I think accountability and encouragement and an eating plan that doesn't feel like a rigid diet is the way to go. During her workouts, my second daughter often wears a t-shirt that says"Strong is Beautiful." She may be thinking "physical strength," but I like to think it has something to do with us loving ourselves enough NOT to listen to that defeatist voice in our heads.
Have a good week, everyone! Strong is beautiful!

Hello all,

For the first time since Jan. 1, no loss this week. On the other hand, my scale, which measures fat, muscle and water percentages as well as weight, posted a bigger fat loss than I ever saw before, so maybe this weight-training gig is paying off. My daughters tell me to focus on body composition, not the number on the scale, and it's true that my body is changing and clothes fit better. I'm hoping to return to size 18 again before long. It's tough in my profession standing day after day in front of seventeen and eighteen year olds wearing the same clothes. Being able to go shopping again in one's own closet has its own rewards, and I'm looking forward to it!
Congratulations to everybody for making such good progress this week. Two weeks to go! Let's keep going!

alleggs That is awesome that your scale shows a big drop in body fat %!! Our stats are very similar. I hit a size 18 around 222 but I bet that you get there sooner because of weight lifting!! I am excited to go shopping!! I am tired of the same clothes, they are boring! You are doing a great job!!
