curvynotlumpy, that book sounds really interesting! I'd be curious what you think of it after you read it.
futurehealthyme, I think that happens to everyone now and again! Hang in there, I believe in you!
Mandy, I hear you, ugh, it seems like this cold and flu season's been especially bad--half my department came back from break coughing and sniffling. Feel better soon!
I finished up my round of steroids only to have TOM hit a couple days later and just leave me flattened... it's my first week of term, too, so I've been dragging myself around campus like the undead. Up side: I've been doing a good job cooking at home and bringing lunch/dinner to avoid the takeout beast, which is always more challenging when I have to drive an hour each way to and from campus.
I only weighed myself four days out of this week so I am not sure if my average is very accurate--I oscillated a bunch this week, but it does show on average a loss. Hopefully it'll all come out in the wash long term. 4 sweets this week... not as bad as last week, and better than most months not going crazy with TOM cravings, but still not down to my target. I was down at 1 all the way until yesterday and then I, like, lost my tiny mind. Whatever, I feel a lot more sane today, so hopefully I can get under 4 sweets next week—mini-goal!
Saturday is off to a good start. I came into work to tie up some loose ends from this past week. Other than some cleaning and my movie plans tomorrow, nothing else on my agenda.
Vivvian: I'll keep you posted about the book. I'm interested in seeing if it backs up any of my hunches regarding clutter and weight.
Mandy: Glad you're feeling better and getting some of your appetite back. This season has been terrible in terms of colds and the flu!
Hope everyone has a wonderful rest of your Saturday!
curvynotlumpy: You will have to let me know how both the movie and the new book are when you see/get into them! I am interested in both of them.
futurehealthyme: It happens! You are not weak. It was just one day, so it will settle back out even if it is a frustrating process. You're back on track now, so that is what matters!
FeraFilia: That's usually one of the first signs of getting better, so I certainly hope that is the case...you deserve a break from all the illness you guys have been dealing with since the turn of the year, lol.
Vivvian: You're doing a great job with the sweets, considering you were low energy AND dealing with TOM. That is a feat in itself, lol. Hopefully you feel a little more lively soon!
Weigh-in was 272.8 today, so 3.4 lbs down for the week. It was a slower week for me this week, but it is still pretty good progress overall...I was kind of in a tired lull - especially for the last few days - so, it is on par with (if not a little better) than what I was thinking it could have been. On a happier note though, my husband bought me a FitBit like I'd been talking about, so that should be here next week -- yay! I'm excited to try it out and see how it goes. This will be my very first fitness tracker of any kind.

I hit onederland today!!!! 199.6 this morning. (I bought a new scale that is 3 lbs heavier, but I'm not going to start using it officially until it has me in onerderland too!) The 199.6 this morning was on the scale I've been using throughout my entire weight loss journey.
I was 198 on the new scale this morning so I'm officially switching over to it. I need to get rid of the old scale because I'm kind of OCD about weighing on both scales every day. I really like the 195 on the old scale, but I know the 198 is more accurate. I've changed my "Starting weight" on my ticker to reflect the higher weight. I'm really torn on that one. I am not positive what my highest weight was (you know, you don't really like to know those numbers "on your way up"). I know I was in the 280-290 range (at least). I waffle back and forth about what to list as my start weight. For now I'm going to say 290 and the next time I go to the doctor's office I'm going to have them check my records (I've been going to the same doctor for about 18 years). I guess it doesn't really matter, but . . .
I hope you ladies have a wonderful day. Now that I've switched to the new scale I will start posting my daily weigh-ins the first of February. I still claim the 199 on my birthday because I think I earned it.
Took my daughter and her friend to the library and Coldstone Creamery after. I knew I'd be tempted by the ice cream, so I made sure to eat before we went (though I usually don't eat breakfast). I wasn't even tempted by the ice cream. It was great and very freeing!
Teeny little bump today, 273.2 (+0.2), not surprising since yesterday's food choices involved ramen and deli turkey.
Feeling a lot better, just still have a nagging cough and a little congestion that's making things difficult. I was planning on working out this afternoon, but after eating my brunch and waiting a little, it seems the sinus drainage is still making my stomach a bit grumpy, so I'm not gonna jostle it around. I'll see if I can't dance around with the kiddo for a bit or something, because now that I *can* be active, I miss it when I'm not.
On that note, I now have 2 new proper sports bras on their way to me, and should be here Tuesday, courtesy of my MIL who saw my progress photo and texted me asking me if she could send me money for a new outfit! I told her I have plenty of clothes, but could definitely use a decent sports bra for my new workout routine and they can be pricey, especially in my size... and she immediately sent me a $75 gift card to Amazon! Sometimes she's awesome.
Anyway, I didn't post it yesterday, but here's my 4 weeks in results:

I'm gonna call January a success! I can't wait to see what February brings in terms of weight loss and fitness for me, with the addition of my new shoes, new bras, and treadmill! Bring it on!
Yesterday I went to see "Hidden Figures" and I would highly recommend it. It is both enlightening and uplifting. It was a refreshing break from some of the good but darker movies I've seen including "Manchester by the Sea." And while not the focus of the movie, I really enjoyed seeing the period fashions.
opheliaphoenix and Vivvian: I've only read the introduction to the book so far but I'm finding myself nodding in agreement to many of his statements and descriptions. I'll keep updating as I read.
Mandy: I'll say January was a HUGE win! Knocked it out of the park repeatedly. Take a bow!
MadetoThrive: and to you!! Ah, sweet, beautiful Onderland. Send pictures!

Curvy, you may contact me at anytime my friend. I went home last weekend and everyone seemed to think I've lost weight the black outfit must have hid some (clears throat) really well because last I weighed I was as close to 190 as I could get without the scale saying 190. I really need to get my eating under control. I'm at the grab and go stage in life and it is so not working (big sigh) I may make it back to the threads in February we shall see
