Great day, today! Brandnewday, I remember being a fat 140 pounds! LOL Horrible how society treats us! Anyway, I hope you get to listen to this video by Dr. Jason Fung. He explains very well (and funny) why we get in that "danger zone" you described. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIuj-oMN-Fk If I'm not allowed to post the link. Search for Jason Fung on YouTube and watch his video entitled: Dr. Jason Fung - 'Therapeutic Fasting - Solving the Two-Compartment Problem'. He is awesome!

Hi! I'd like to join your group...as of this morning I'm at 265.5, however we are leaving town for a week, and I expect that number to rise, naturally. I'm counting calories (approx 1000 /day) and low carb (under 50/day) I just began using a treadmill this week. I started my journey at 284 and am pleased with the progress so far. I know I'll never be "thin", I just want to be healthy! Enjoy your day everyone!

Welcome Sassypants! Enjoy your trip! I'm really glad you are here - the more the merrier.

I have been 257.4 for the last 2 days. Tuesday night I tried to eat 1 slice of pizza and my stomach bothered me for the rest of the night! I have not been eating much dairy, and my stomach rebelled. I also hurt my knee yesterday while sitting down into my recliner Trying to keep my thoughts away from ice cream, chips, and cookies while I keep it iced!

How is everyone else doing?

Pretty good! Staying on my routine now that I'm temporarily unemployed! I love routines! Hoping to see a drop tomorrow. My scale thinks it has a sense of humor. I'm here to say, it does not!
Welcome Sassypants!
Brandnewday, sorry about your knee, I have hurt myself doing things I shouldn't have hurt myself doing, it is a bummer! Hope you get better quickly!

Hi Sassypants! You're doing awesome! Keep it up!

Brandnewday, I'm sorry you hurt your knee. I hope it heals fast!

NurseMom, I think my scale has a mean side. LOL

I'm doing good. Working my way back to good eating habits. It's hard with two teenage stepsons. LOL

Hi everyone! My scale has pulled another cruel joke. But, I'm not going to let that bother me.
I know I had too much sodium yesterday, so today, I'll increase my water today and hope I see what I want tomorrow.
Mara - yes, those teen aged boys can eat you out of house and home! Stick to your guns! LOL
My hubby is not on this WOE and he cooks a lot of things I can't eat, it is hard not to plop a pile of mashed potatoes on my plate.

Hope you all have a great day, hang in there!

My husband has been eating what I fix, but he is starting to crack. He wants me to make Chop Suey, which has about 4 times my RDA of sodium, he fixes himself mashed potatos (with sour cream AND cream cheese mixed in), he keeps wanting us to go out for fried food. I try to be a good sport, and he really isn't trying to sabatoge (sp) me, it's just that he has never really had to worry about his weight and doesn't get it.

Trying my best today to focus on how far we've come, rather than how much farther there is to go! Talk to you all soon!

Brandnewday - Yes, stay focused. It is easy to lose track, especially if you are the only one in the house on a different eating plan. Did not see any change in weight, I have been from 267-269 depending on which way the wind is blowing, but, I'm not going to get discouraged, at least I'm outta the 270s! Whoop Whoop!! (And 280s and 290s for that matter!!!)

I am soooooo stalled! No pounds, no inches, no nothing. Ack! And this is keeping to my plan, no cheats, and exercising daily. I need a plan.

Brandnewday it is hard not to be tempted when the boys are getting all the fried food. LOL

NurseMom just hold on. I remember being frustrated when the scale isn't budging but then a whoosh would happen. I think its just your body holding on because it doesn't want to let go of the "store of energy" it has built up. It doesn't know any better.

Good morning!

I weighed in today at 254.8, which means I have officially lost 35 lbs!

Thanks for the commiseration and advice, friends. I stayed on track this weekend, and feel pretty good today. I am staying positive by focusing on some of the things my body can do now that it couldn't do at 290. For example, I descended a staircase and realized that I didn't have to hold the rail and take it step, stop, step, stop. I can bend at the knees, instead of stretching my legs wide and bending at the waist. (What an image, right? ).

Nursemom, I'm sure that your body is preparing for a big loss!!

I sorted my seasonal clothes today, and almost threw away my favorite black yoga pants - then I remembered I'll need them when I take my "I made goal" picture! We'll get there! I have faith in us!

Thank you for the encouragement, ladies!! I really needed that. Normally, I know the reason why the scale doesn't move (because of something I've done) but, I did see some small progress today, thank God! I'm glad it is moving again, I hope it keeps it up for a while! 266.8 I know it is very close to 267.0, but, psychologically, it has made me one happy woman today!!

Mara - Yeah, the boys get to eat all the "good stuff" LOL. What diet are you on?

Brandnewday - WOO HOO! 35 pounds gone! Way to go!

PFFFFTT!! 266.8 is NOT close to 267! You won't be 267 again - you are on your way to 266!

LOL I'm glad you ladies are on the move down with the scale!!!

I saw 267.8 this morning so that made me smile.

NurseMom I am just counting calories, trying to make healthier choices, and exercise more.
