2 mile walk today and some housework.
|
I didn't do yoga BUT my friend who has MS called me and I pushed her around the mall in her wheelchair. Lots of it was UPHILL on ramps. Ramps are nice, but it's scary going down "Don't fall out, Shan!" and difficult pushing up. Got a good workout.
It was good to spend time with my friend but sad that she's now wheel-bound. |
i did my kickboxing video on friday night! whew, i was sweating like i hadn't sweated in a looooooong time. i really needed that.

15 min on the elliptical
15 min of stretching/ab work Miss Chris |
did some ab things...did some stretch and does 2 hours scrubbing the kitchen floor with a brush count as exercise?
|
OF COURSE IT DOES!
If you clean like I do you not only worked up a sweat but got a nice UBWO to boot! Miss Chris |
Did another Kathy smith video. Turns out I'd been doing fatloss workout and today I did the weight loss one. It was unbelievably hard! If that's moderate arobics I never wanna see advanced! Over an hour of twisting, jumping pounding. PHew! Think I'll go back to the fat loss one again, I'm definatly a begginer!

Kittymilk,
I have that tape, and it doesn't seem beginner to me, either. Note I said I HAVE the tape, not that I've actually done it. I started with leslie sansone one mile tapes in march, and can now do three mile tapes (but choose not to, cause I'd rather do a thirty minute two mile tape and fifteen or twenty minutes of weight work instead) Yesterday I tried yoga. It didn't go very well. I think I need Yoga for Dummies instead of the tape I attempted. Sherry |
Friday I hallwalked, then lifted in the evening.
Saturday I did Linda Evan's The New You. This was one of my first exercise tapes, and I remember now why I loved it. It's in three ten-minute sections, plus separate warm up, cool down, and stretch sections. If you can only do the first aerobic section, that's fine. It's very encouraging, and they teach you how to modify arm and leg work to bring your heartrate up but not overwork you. I've used the techniques I learned from this tape to modify other tapes. It works the legs and butt a LOT. I had forgotten how much. I'm a bit achy this morning. |
today i did 17 minutes on my skywalker that is like the tony little gazelle and then i walked the kids to the playground, its only 1/4 of a mile one way but its down hill from here and uphill all the way back. And i did some weights.

Holly 6,500 steps almost doesn't sound too bad to me. Getting in 10,000 is really really hard. I find it kinda silly they recommend that everyday with WW its alot of steps. I think the idea is just try and even if you don't succeed you've still done alot more then normal.
Sherry that kathy smith video is so hard it's not funny. I was trying to tone it down alot but I still feel I overdid it. The fat burning one is so much different. I notice with the weight loss one kathy changes outfits every 5 mins and starts fresh all the time. I wonder if she really could keep the pace up for the whole hour. I'm thinking of getting some walking tapes. How do they work? Are you just walking around ur living room to music or do they have airobic moves as well? They seem pretty popular, since I'm not much of a jumping twisting kinda gal I thought they might be better for me. |
I can only speak specifically about Leslie Sansone's Weight Loss Walk, which was one of her first. But from what I've heard they're all pretty similar.
The Leslie Sansone walking tapes are very basic. Mostly marching, some in place and some front/back. She adds in side steps and some knee raises occasionally. But none of the coreography is very difficult. Anyone should be able to do the steps. The pace speeds up as you go along. I know that with Weight Loss Walk, the first mile is fine, the second mile is okay, and by the third mile the pace is making my calves scream. |
15 min of Yoga
Last night 18,000 steps! WOOOOOOHOOOOO!!! Miss Chris |
Leslie Sansone
Man, you have to love the side steps on the walk away the pound tapes, it gets your shorts out of places. LOL. Keep it up everyone. Mary in West Virginia
