This has never happpened for me before!

  • Over the last several days my husband and I have been traveling. 10+ hours in the car to Indianapolis on Wednesday, a 4ish hour drive on Saturday (1.5 to a church we had to visit, and then another 2.5 up to my grandparent's house), and then another 10ish hour drive yesterday.

Every single meal was restaurant or fast food. I was not able to do scheduled exercise with how busy we were in Indy, so I made sure to take the stairs all the time (our room was on the 2nd floor) and when there was a few minutes of down time I'd walk "laps" which was from my end of the 2nd floor, to the other end of the 2nd floor, up the stairs to the 3rd floor then back down to my end of the floor, down the stairs and back into my room. When we went to my grandparents house it was raining the whole time and we did a lot of sitting around and talking. (NSV here: I (mostly) said no to chocolate iced glazed krispy kreme donuts, which are basically my favorite junk food ever - I took one bite out of each of the 2 my husband ate). Even there, we went out to meals because my grands didn't feel like cooking. I volunteered! And they said no.

And now, the exciting part. I weighed in the day before we left, and I weighed in this morning (Tuesdays, 1 week apart), and I'm down 1.6 pounds!

I LOST WEIGHT while traveling. Not vacationing fun travel either. This was mostly business travel with a bit of family time at the end. And all the meals were provided at the hotel as part of our registration for the event. They were "mystery" food, I had no idea what I was getting until it was put in front of me. Dessert (which I didn't skip either night) was provided as well.

I've *never* been able to lose weight while traveling before!
  • Good job!!!
  • Outstanding! Such a great feeling!
  • That is fantastic! It seems like you worked hard to do what you could to be healthy and it paid off!
  • Good job. Keep on it.
  • Good for you!! Congrats
  • Wonderful!
  • congrats!
  • Thanks y'all! Actually, I lost more weight than I originally thought.

Yesterday was all healthy foods and lots of water and a little exercise, and this morning was a 2.2 pound whoosh for a total of 3.8 for the week of June 4 through June 11.

Guess I got rid of some of that water bloat from sitting in the car eating fast food all day Monday.
  • Great Job!
  • That is wonderful and inspiring! Good job
