EASY & FUN workout idea!
Hi guys! I haven't been around a lot lately -- I read, but I don't post much. I remember when I first got started, people who'd already lost a lot of weight could be preachy (like they had THEE answer) or too rah-rah for my liking LOL so I like to keep it zipped
However, I've discovered the most amaze-balls fun thing to do!!!
HULA HOOPING!!!
it's made my middle HARD! after losing 160 pounds and keeping it off a few years I still had some sag I guess, in the middle area -- I've hula hooped now for about 4 months and can't even believe the difference in the core of my body!
I thought I'd pass it along! Even if you're just starting, it's a fun way to get UP and do something, and it's fun and silly and you'll laugh and have to bend down 40 times to pick it up ha ha
Happy Holidays everyone!!

Did you use a cheap Wham-O hula hoop, or a more expensive version for exercise?

Great idea, Trazey!
Don't ever feel bad about sharing your thoughts on weight loss, or rah rahing . I, for one, love reading posts from people who have been successful at weight loss and especially maintenance. You have a lot of insight to share. Do you have a blog?

That's a great idea, I remember I did hula hooping when I was 14 (no change of diet and no other exercise, just half an hour of hula hooping per day) and I agree with you how hooping makes your tummy so firm and it seems to spot reduce waist fat!

Wow! I'm so glad you posted to share this with us. I "won" a pretty pink hula hoop at a Christmas party and was just saving it for the next kid's birthday to give it away! I'll have to try it out as exercise -- I know I'm not very good at it. How much practice does it take until you can "really" do it?

Yes, thanks for the idea...I bought one for myself! Boy am I bad at it, and boy does it burn calories just picking it up from the floor. I also don't mind if my family sees me trying---we've had a lot of laughs!!

aww thanks! No, I don't blog, I spend too much time talking to they write it all down again ha ha!
I'm convinced half of the tummy toning comes from DYING LAUGHING hahah it's so hilariously fun!!!
I don't use the light ones that little kids use, there are ones specifically for grown ups, they're weighted and bigger -- i think a 2 lbs weight? There are tons of videos out there that describe the best sizes/weights for beginners
I'm not sure if I'm able to post a you-tube vid here, but this girl inspired me so much!!!!

OMG! That video is so fun! I never knew hula hooping could be like that! Why have I never seen anything like this? It reminds me of twirling and flag corp -- both of which I loved when I was younger - and thinner! I'm going to give this a try! Thanks again!

That's just like a guy -- oblivious to all the hard work she's putting in! ha!
Would you believe that I found some classes here in Houston? They start Jan 7 (4 classes), and I'm going to try it out. They have hoops for you to use at the studio. It looks like a great workout. It obviously worked for that girl in the video.
I started a bit heavier than you, and I hope to also reach a goal of 160. You've made tremendous progress and are such an inspiration to someone like me "on the way down" again. I hope you post more. I'm sure you have quite a bit of wisdom to share - like this hula hoop tip!

I LOVE hula hooping. My gym has a bunch of hoola hoops so before the classes start I'm always hoola hooping with some of the other women. So much fun!

My gym also has a hula hoop. I use it occasionally cuz it's fun. Never realized it was actually good for me. :-)

Hula hooping seems like lots of fun. I also noticed the guy in this video minding his own business and not paying any attention to what a wonderful wife he has. So sad! But this lady really rocks!
Hula hooping is a lot harder than it seems, I must say.

I remember someone used to post about hula hooping quite a bit...I think she teaches classes. I tried hooping but it killed my back!
Good to see you posting again. While I was losing weight I always loved to see the maintainers posting...it inspired me. That's why I stick around now that I've lost the weight. Hope I don't annoy anyone. Lol
