Rebelle, I got Cathe Friedrich's latest series. I like her workouts and always enjoy getting her DVDs. Here's a link http://shop.cathe.com/workout_dvds_s/1.htm . I received the first 9 workouts on this page in this order but I have most of her workouts already. I like working out at home, now that the weather is cooler, hopefully I'll be motivated to start again.

Pam, great job on the exercise. I need to follow in your footsteps and get back to it. I was thinking of trying an easy cardio workout, just to get started. Walking seems to be OK but getting up and down isn't fun.

Mandy, we have some casinos not too far away. Neither one of us cares for gambling, but We keep saying we are going to go to a {cheap} buffet but somehow we never do, which is probably a good thing, no sense getting around that much temptation.

Hubby is still out of town, today my parents took me to Bible study, then to lunch, then to the library. I wanted some books on cooking on a campfire or coals with cast-iron pots. I didn't find much but I did find some interesting books {suggestions anyone?}. We recently bought a RV and Mr. Pyromaniac has to build a fire at each site so I thought we might as well do more than roast marshmallows.

penguin - I like doing the packets. It was a girl scout thing. You just use heavy duty foil, maybe a couple of layers if you're doing it in the fire, and cut up whatever vegetables you like and put whatever meat you like on top and season with salt, pepper, etc. We do them in the oven at home. The juices from the meat keep it all moist and flavors the vegetables kind of like a pot roast. Sometimes we do a chicken breast or just a hamburger patty. Everybody can pick the vegetables they like (potatoes, carrots, onions, celery, squash, parsnips, etc.) and then fold it all up real well so it doesn't leak and put the initials on them so you know which is which. In girl scouts we just put them down in the fire. They take quite awhile to cook, but they're done when the meat is done and the vegetables are tender. We used to put some butter in there with it, but that's probably not good for our diets

249.0 this morning. I'm hoping I'll be back down to 248 tomorrow for the official weigh in. I stayed within a decent calorie range yesterday and still haven't used up all my weekly points, but I had McDonald's for dinner. After zumba and then waiting on the kids to get out of karate it was late and I was starving. I'd eat Arby's if it wasn't so darn expensive. I had fries and a burger so definitely not a healthy choice for dinner. I'll have to try to do better today.

Mara - Congrats on making it back down to 246. You may hit a new low tomorrow

I'm curious. Do any of you drink diet pop/soda? I know some people are really against it and artificial sweeteners in general. I drink it daily and I have throughout my weight loss journey so far. I gave up all carbonated beverages for over a year on the recommendation of a diet doctor and it didn't seem to help me a bit. I enjoy it and don't plan on giving it up. I was just curious what everyone else's take is on it.

Thanks guys.

Mandy sometimes I drink regular soda (very rare) and somtimes I drink coke zero/diet dr. pepper (rare too). But most of the time I drink water. For me as long as it is everynow and then it is okay.

And I order a Jr. Roast Beef sandwich and a value curly fry when I go to Arby's. It is around $2.13 and surprisingly fills me up.

I can't do the jr. roast beef. Maybe it's just in my area, but they might as well just hand over a big ol' bun because there is pretty much no meat on the jr's anymore lol. At this point I usually take half the bun off my burgers anyway because after not having bread for so long it just seems like too much. I like the medium roast beef, it seems more like the regular roast beef sandwich used to be. I guess the reason why I did so well with low carb for so long is because I'm such a meat eater My daughter is a bread head. She can enjoy just a plan slice of white bread with nothing on it. I have to hide the bread that I don't eat because she doesn't want me to throw it away and unfortunately she has a weight issue already and doesn't need it any more than I do.

MandyDawn, thanks for the packet ideas. I"ve done that in the oven at home so that shouldn't be too hard {I think?} I'm not a big fan of the artificial sweetners, but I'm not a big fan of cokes either. I think if you don't want to give them up you can work your plan around them, especially if you've made progress so far.

Rebelle, I"ve noticed that if I do exercise regularly I don't do silly things like hurt my back working in the yard. I really do need to get back to it. I'm moving better at least. I soaked in the tub, which I find very boring, but I did it and I feel better. Which DVDs do you have that you haven't tried? I have a rather large collection so I may have tried them.

Congrats Mara and Only believe! Only Believe you are so close to being out of the 240's! I'm excited for you!

I hit a new low today as well. While in my pjs this morning after I first woke up I was at 246, but by the time I got to work and officially weighed in it was 247. I went ahead and just stuck with the 247 for my signature here, but if it's 246 again in the morning I'm definitely claiming it.

Happy Friday everyone!!!

I've been thinking. I'm super happy that I'm losing weight and definitely not complaining. BUT I wonder if I made changes would it make a huge difference. I hear so many people say drink water, water, and more water and it will help with weight loss; don't eat after a certain time; lower sodium intake; etc. I admit my diet is definitely not the best. I ate McDonalds the last two nights for dinner and I didn't eat until 8 or so. I ate so many salads and veggies while I did low carb that since I switched to WW's I have been really bad about not eating vegetables and at first I was eating a little fruit daily, but I got burned out on that too. Like I said, I'm not complaining. My thoughts are would I be losing a lot faster if I ate better or is it truly just calories in/calories out. I definitely stay within a good calorie range for each day, especially if I was to count in all my exercise. I've always heard it's better to eat the majority of your calories earlier in the day and eat light at night, but I've always done the opposite. For example, my breakfast, lunch and snacks yesterday only added up to 400 and some calories and then my dinner was like 1000! My sodium is almost always too high according to mfp.

Sorry for rambling on. I'm just thinking out loud here. I suppose I could just experiment and see if my weight loss picks up if I eat healthier and add more water to my diet. Have any of you done experiments with your diet and really tracked it to see if more water really makes a difference or if the types of food you eat have a big impact or if it's mainly just the calories that seem to count? I have always felt that the type of calories makes a big difference since I lost weight doing low carb and my calories were usually really high because I was eating a lot of high calorie food, except for the vegetables of course. I've been losing weight at a decent pace and I am excited about that, but I just wonder if I could be losing a whole lot faster if I tried all these diet tricks that everyone has said for years. Do you really think it matters what time of day you eat? I've heard contradicting things over the years because I also read somewhere that you should rest while your body is working to digest your food. I'm curious what everyone's opinions are on these things.

rebelle - Thank you for responding to all my crazy questions lol. I know what you mean about some things being worth the calories. Just this week I finally decided to move down from heavy whipping cream in my coffee to half n half. First I tried vanilla almond milk, but that didn't work out. Half n Half was a much better substitute. I got so spoiled to the HWC while on low carb that I didn't think I would ever give it up. I was only using 1 measured out tablespoon and this way I can use 2 tablespoons and it's fewer calories and less fat. I'm a coffee lover and once in awhile I splurge and get a Starbucks coffee, either just a latte with half n half or a skinny peppermint mocha. I used to drink sweet tea daily and take a gallon to work every week (red diamond) and then I switched to unsweetened and used my EZ Sweetz drops. I don't know if you have tried it, but I have friends at work who swore they couldn't stand sweeteners and they like it. Once in awhile they come to my desk and ask for a couple of drops (1 drop = 2 tsp sugar). You might try it. I love the fact that it mixes right in and you don't have to dissolve it. You can sweeten up a whole pitcher of tea with very little. I even cook with it. It's supposed to be liquid Splenda or that's what I've read anyway.

I'm sure after your TOM you will have a big loss. I usually do. Just keep following your diet and eventually it will show on the scale.

Have a good weekend everyone!
