I think there should be a drum roll right about now..................

Well, i'm 318.2 pounds. Pretty much where I thought I would be.

My BMI is a whopping 39. Ugh. Considering I must have weighed around 420 a year ago, I'm happy with the progress. I have to point out that I am tall, so I figure I have about 80 pounds still to lost to get down to a healthy weight.

Matt

Way to go Matt! You are very tall and that makes a big difference. Congrats on the loss and good luck for the next 80 lbs we are rooting for you!

irishwings 05-30-2003 10:22 AM

Inca's Momma 05-30-2003 10:47 AM

That is wonderful! You can do it, the next 80 will be no problem you are already over halfway to your goal :D

Jennelle 05-30-2003 11:17 AM

Good for you! :D And 318 is DEFINITELY better than 420!

gonzostar 05-30-2003 12:37 PM

so we had a race, right? you were breaking 300 when i break 200? heh. just kidding. don't try to drop 18 pounds in a few weeks. not good.

but really, awesome that you will now have two ways to measure your success! pants size AND the evil scale!

mthrgoos68 05-30-2003 12:47 PM

Matt,

AMAZING!!! You have done really great and so much to be proud of. We're in about the same place, I've lost 105 and have 85 more to go.

I just want to add my congrats on the 100 pounds! You have done so great. And now the BMI is out of the morbidly obese range too! I was in the morbidly obese range myself once and now am just plain old obese! ;) I can't wait to no longer say the "o" word!!
good luck to you and best wishes!!

Thanks everyone.

Holly, I think you will beat me in the race! It would be very nice to be under 300 at the start of July, but I don't think that will happen. You are knocking on the door to Onederland!

Jiffy, thats a very scary thought to see me in speedos. In the bahamas I didn't even take my shirt off (i went swimming in a T-Shirt). The last thing I need is for people to see my large gut and man-boobies.

gonzostar 05-31-2003 11:11 PM

how tall are you matt? david is 6 foot and a 34 waist, and he is skinny. lanky. all that. jut letting you know so you don't try to overdo it. =)

but you DID promise pictures, man-boobies or not. ;P

matt_H 05-31-2003 11:19 PM

yes, i did promise pictures but i didn't take any of me on the beach. I did snap a couple of pictures of me in the mirror of the hotel room (wearing a Bahamian T-shirt I picked up, yes, i know that is lame). I don't know how well that will turn out. I used one of those disposable cameras and Julie has the camera (and there are more pics left before it gets developed). I'll have someone take a real pic of me and when I get the camera developed I will have them placed on a CD so I can upload a couple.

I'm 6'4....I just realized that a normal weight for me is around 200-220 pounds. So I guess I still have 100 pounds to go (my estimate of 80 was majorly off).

Chibit 06-01-2003 01:18 AM

Matt that is AWESOME! What a major excitement!!!!http://chunkymonkeypics.homestead.co...Raise_Arms.gif

karefree2 06-01-2003 11:10 AM

Matt, at 6'4" I think your estimate of 80 more to go is right on the money or the pound anyway. :) Congrats on your losses already! You have done a great job!

Sandi 06-01-2003 01:27 PM

Matt - That is great!! You have done so well!! Keep it up!! My hubby is 6"2 and he looks good at 230 (his current weight) so I think you are right on target!!

Jennelle 06-01-2003 01:29 PM

I think 80 pounds is right on target, Matt. 6'4" and 240 is pretty solid!

AmyJ 06-02-2003 12:22 PM

Good for you Matt! You'll know when you get there what's right for you. Keep up the great work.

And see, I don't thnk you'll truly know this til you get closer to it. How you feel, how your clothes fit, your endurance, etc.
